This explanation is very clear. I’ve watched other tutorials where I could see practically nothing, but now I know how to do it, thank you! But note that "locking in" the ends of previous yarn into the work isn’t easy with thicker yarn.

Thank you! I've been doing a lot of crocheting recently and, instead of making for myself or a couple of afghans for others, I have two brand new babies to make for (different sides of the family, but there must have been something in the water s they were about 10 days apart. Yikes!) So I have been working to 'up my game' and be more ... professional. Instead of the loose, "catch as catch can" just tie a knot or something and move on style that I had before. I have learned to tie on yarn (I think it's a Russian join?), keep to my stitch count (because babies are tiny things. I don't want to think about the "Monster Bootie" that was almost big enough to fit me.) and *now* I know how to change colors, something I should have learned all those many years and 'How To' books ago. Better late than never, I guess. Thank you for helping me to look good, and make good looking things for the tiniest people. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this!

thank you. you made this look easy; but what if I had narrow stripes and wanted to carry my yarn from one stripe to the next?
@HeartHookHome
@HeartHookHome 3 жыл бұрын
I would carry the yarn (crochet around it) or if you're working in rows just pick it up on the next row, on your way back.

Sure! I'd just change it with the last pull through like normal.

I would still do it on the last pull through. You can go in later and clean up any noticeable bits when you weave in ends.

Not if you weave in the ends properly.

You have a bad and annoying habit of “snorting your snot”. Suggest that you “blow your nose” before you start filming and keep tissue at hand while doing so. An added benefit is that it is healthier for you because it keeps the mucus from going down your throat, which could irritate it enough to cause a cough.
you should learn this! I couldn't believe the technique in this crochet stitch.
