I have been saying this for years. Clay Ballard is the best teacher. As a coach myself, I can tell you he genuinely wants to help people.

This may be the most consequential golf instructional video I've ever seen. Finally something straightforward on how to stay square through impact, which has always been my biggest bugaboo. Didn't even have time to work the drills before I last hit the course and still hit the ball much more consistently on target. I'm sure repetition will only improve this.

Clay really understands the golf swing and how to explain it and train it!

Thanks! Glad you think so.

Hi Clay, my coach and I were trying all sorts of changes on my swing in order to make the club face more stable and square and not too closed at impact. Your simple slow mini swings drill helped me a ton to get there. Thank you

I worked the Korn Ferry tour (NV5 Invitational) outside Chicago this past weekend (as a Marshall), … and one thing I noticed is SO MANY of these great players would TUCK the SLEEVE of their SHIRT under their left arm as they were setting up to hit the ball. It is very similar to this rubber strap (training aid) you recommend, but using the sleeve of your shirt is easier, and you can use it on the course when you play. As always, good stuff 👍🏻 Thanks, Clay 🙏🏻 Also, a friend of mine said he was trying to “keep the back of his hand” toward the target on the downswing (I think he meant the heel pad of his left hand facing the target at pre-impact, when his club was at 9 o’clock on the downswing). I have never heard that before, but … maybe another tip to help square the clubface?

I bought a theraband and felt better connection almost immediately, especially with some of my longer irons that I usually struggle with. My chronic issue is leaving the clubface open, especially after I get on a proper in-to-out swing path. Really helpful drill and I can't wait to try to put all three pieces together!

Clay I just wanted to say thanks. Your paint brush video has me actually compressing the ball and it actually help me with a side bend issue I was having and didn’t realize. And my accuracy has gone to the next level!! Once again thank you so much. I’ve broke 90 the last three times I’ve played and I credit it to your great tips and lots of practice.

With that right palm up you either need to start with strong grip or roll the hands down, which involves timing. Correct?

Is the left armpit really supposed to stay tightly closed through the swing? For some reason it just seems wrong to keep that tension. On the flip side, is this why we used to see PGA Tour players pulling up their sleeve into the left armpit before swinging? Remember how popular that was? Seemed like everyone was pulling up their sleeve. Nobody does it anymore.

Watched your videos for a week. Now I’m topping and slicing everything. Almost broke 100 a week and a half ago now I can’t hit a ball down range solid with any fucking club.

Good video, but every swing coach needs to get away from left and right - instead use lead and trail.
