guys I didn’t get this in 5 minutes but I did the stretches she recommended and tried to do it once everyday and I got it in 3 weeks :) btw: I’m not flexible at all and I wasn’t able to do the splits in the stretches or a bridge but I attempted it. I was so suprised I got it so fast. ALSO!!! Try doing a headstand before an elbow stand, it’s much easier and you can get it in a day or two, and it’ll help you with your balance. After perfecting a headstand, try do a headstand and then lift your head into an elbow stand, do this until you’re able to get into an elbow stand straight away. This is a method I used that really helped :)

I love this. I was scared AF about falling into a bridge. I've always had a really strong fear of going backward like front handspring, headspring, Summersault , etc. But I'd constantly do it against the wall, work on my back flexibility and walk my legs gradually down the wall until it finally reached the ground. Then I did it without the wall! I can even balance now and I can do an elbow walkover ( split in the air then land with one leg before the other) if that's even a thing?! :)

Valerie vids it's actually not that dangerous! Just make sure you do some warm-up stretches to loosen your muscles so that you don't hurt yourself. If you don't do proper stretches, then that's when you could injure yourself or even make it harder for you to reach your middle splits.

There's a huge amount of prep work that goes into learning to elbow stand I feel like wasn't covered here. As you said, core & arm strength are really necessary for this pose, but mobility is as well. Knowing how to hold yourself up on your shoulders too. Things like dolphin pose are really helpful for this, even just doing a yoga plank (the one where you hollow out your upper back so it's round) is the kind of strength you need for this pose
@AshJ_56
@AshJ_56 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, one thing that I lack is shoulder strength. And I think getting a steady headstand first is a great help into progression into a elbow stand and then into handstands
@MadiGrace_14
@MadiGrace_14 18 күн бұрын
Strength, Flexibility, Mobility, and Endurance are all required in an elbow stand. Your shoulder and core have to be strong but your arms and back too. Your legs,back and shoulder all need to be loose as well. It's good to focus on breathing as it will help with balance and meditation! There's a lot to go into it, but just like a sport, it's hard until you practice:)
@MadiGrace_14
@MadiGrace_14 18 күн бұрын
@AshJ_56 Ovhead press, bench press, and bent over rows are amazing for building strength as well. Planks, push-ups, and pike push ups are also good. And dolphin pose, downward dog and arm circles are good too.

Hajer straddle stretch helped me the most, now if I stretch for a little while before attempting, I can get my splits on both sides. I think pigeon pose, straddle stretch, and lunges are what helped me most. :D

I have tried this before but didn't succeed... I wasn't strong enough and i didn't have the right attitude. After that i continued to stretch and workout except this time i stretched a little further and broke a little more sweat. I did this for about two weeks and by then i had forgotten about this video however today it popped up in my recommended so I gave it a shot, and guess what?.. IT WORKED. I was so happy and now i can do my elbow stand without any trouble but all i had to do was put in a little more work and effort to reach something i couldn't before hand. Now i apply this to everything I do and it has helped me so much. I guess what I'm trying to say is you can do it no matter what if you train a little harder and try consistently, NOT just on the days you want to. Right now I'm working towards my middle splits and it's taking a little while but I'll get there. Have a good day and believe in yourself. 🙂✨
