By learning about Karl Gotch and Japanese Pro Wrestling, I learned about the Hindu Pushup, Squat and Back Bridge. I also discovered Indian Clubs for shoulder strengthening. I also saw videos of Pehlwanis doing sapate. They really get into a fast movement. Thank-you for the great video. I have one question: where did you get those pushup stands? They look amazing.

Thanks! Excellent video. I have to ask the question about reps… In India wrestlers are probably doing 100s of reps. What would be a rep range to target for overall conditioning?
@OriginalStrengthSystem
@OriginalStrengthSystem Жыл бұрын
Good question! I think you could try sets of 10 and see how many you can get in 10 minutes. You could rest as you need to, but work towards 100 and depending on where you are physically it may be that you start out aiming for 50 inside of 10 minutes. no hard answers only explorations!

It's the Brahmacharya that makes the strength to that in Indian Wrestlers Brahmcharya means - meditation, yoga, no fab , no non-veg , no fast food , only healthy vegetarian food and milk products especially GHEE is the main Power source Love from India

@OriginalStrengthSystem

There may always be movements that arent the best for us and that is ok. We can change them or adapt them in ways that work better with our bodies. Maybe reduce the amount of back extension, or slow the motion. If none of that works, again, it is ok! Keep seeking the movements your body does love.

Hi Tim re: Hindu Pushups/Dand, my elbows are flaring out, any advise on how to tuck the elbows? Also, I've got flat feet, any advise on how to do Hindu squats, my balance isn't good while I go down.

Maybe take some of the load off the pushup by allowing your knees to be on the ground. Like this: How to Restore Your Youth with the Rocking Hindu Pushup kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZzOY3x4eNGprpo. Try to see if this allows your elbows to stay tucked. For the squat, maybe put a 2 inch lift or board under your heals. This may be very helpful.

@@OriginalStrengthSystem thank you. I have added that to my morning Yoga routine but the Hindu pushup to my evening workout routine. Would like to know if the rocking Hindu pushup would add strength to the upper body or is it more like a dynamic stretch?
@OriginalStrengthSystem
@OriginalStrengthSystem Жыл бұрын
@themightyrawal Yes, strength has layers to it. The Rocking Hindu Pushup will build a layer of strength - a foundational layer that will allow more strength to be stacked on top of it. It will help make things easier over time.

Its said that when a man is performing sapate it's as if a machine is running continuously. Like you can see the sheer will power thats dripping down in the form of sweat to keep doing them. Many Wrestlers in India can do like 500 with ease. Some even attempt challenges like performing them from morning to evening. My record has been like 70 72 in one go, then I got fat again, now I'm building myself again! This increased my height too!😂

You’d have to do so many of these things to build muscle unless a novice. Can possibly use to maintain muscle/strength/power for a while but this isn’t going to pack on large amounts of muscle or strength.
