I have to ask, if you are holding any of your customers details on your phone or laptop, how is this affected by the new General Data Protection Regulations? And what precautions have you taken to protect their data?

GDPR is more concerned with 3rd parties seeing your customers data, or more importantly data that can identify a single person/party (Mr.Smith, lots of them). So as long as the laptop either has a password AND/OR the data doesn't have other unique data bundled together such as address (Mr.Smith, 1 London Road Vs Mr Smith, 1 London Road RM1 1AA) then just a password in the laptop should be fine. It still won't stop "big" companies collecting statistical data from their databases (Tesco et al) on buying habits and selling it on legally.

I’ve got the magnaclean professional 3 installed to my viessmann, I’ve installed the adey app and when I’m trying to register the job or the warranty the model number of the magnaclean is not appearing on the drop down menu?

Hiya James I see they have underfloor heating installed. My question is if you have radiators upstairs and underfloor heating downstairs how would you install the system. Because you don't want the dirty water from the radiators mixing with the underfloor heating as it could block and damage the manifold and the flow gauges. Thanks

smart tech magna cleans are installed on the return back to your boiler. The reason for this if there is any break down of particles in the system it all collects before going back into the boiler. Under floor manifolds are usually made of brass and aluminium and don't Break down like radiators do. The radiator pipes going up stairs are 1 zone so this would go back to the boiler / magna clean with out going through the under floor heating. It's like having two separate heating systems going into one, and controlling them independent from each-other.

@@scottcooper4619 I agree with that but I would assume you would not want the radiator water mixing with the underfloor heating water. Cause the flow gauges can been easily blocked up and even if there where on 2 different zone like a S plan the water still would mix and you would still get all the dirty water and from the rads ?. Just a thought could you put a 2nd magna clean on the flow pipe just before the UFH manifold

Do they supply a tracking device for the spare o ring/rubber seal, segmented key for loosening tightening the lid and the little hex key for the drain off. I always leave the ones supplied with the customer; usually pop it on top of the boiler case and tell them NOT TO THROW THEM AWAY/LOSE THEM. They're never there when I return to drain and reinhibit. Last one I installed, I hid the tools/spares away behind the toilet pedestal. There were no mucky magz stashed there, so I thought the bits n bobs would be safe.

Hi James, i have just had one of these installed with a new boiler etc, but the engineer did not register my ADEY Pro3, and he didn't connect it to my WiFi, i quizzed him about it and he said his job was just to connect, so i tried to connect myself without success as i am not realy sure i should be setting up a Adey Pro Club membership account as i am not am installer, its the weekend now so i cant speak to ADEY, any ideas or should i just wait for monday? A guy I know has two KZbin channels and I’ve watch him edit and I was amazed with the effort and time it takes he has a channel that does a bit of drones and paramotoring (wiltshireman and Jacklore Knives). People pick holes in the way you solder or the solvent you use but they dont realise every shot change or angle has to be done by you . Just wanted to say it’s appreciated . Noooooooooooooo. Sorry, James, but a simple device like a magnetic filter connected to mobiles and internet is just crazy and complete overkill. Especially when then far more complicated boiler above it isn't connected for monitoring it's current state and any faults. Way too much pointless technology for the sake of it.

Definitely. Set up a separate WiFi network for smart home and guest access and keep it apart from your private network. While you're at it, set up a separate email address for those devices that doesn't identify you in any way.

To be honest it is not worth installing this model. The app is easy to use but reconnection with the filter after some issues with the internet is not possible, customer support is useless, they are not responding.

I've just had one fitted with my new Viessmann Vitodens 100-W boiler.The fitter managed to install the software he needed.When it came to my turn to install the home owner version of the software,it was having non of it.I went through all the steps ok then it asks you to entre a password which I did,no good.I used the password I always use,it was the same one the fitter used on the pro app it worked for him but not for me.I re-read why the password had failed,it turned out that the password has have at least one special character in it so I tried that,still no good,found out that my WiFi base will not accept a password with a special character in it.I wish I had bought a Pro 2 version which does the same job as this expensive piece of crap.It may be designed to help you guys out but for the home owner it's useless.GRRRRRRRRR
