Thank you for including a vegan alternative. What brand of apple sauce do you recommend? I think the one I saw had citric acid in it. Also, since you mentioned yeast, I was wondering if saccaromyces boulardii has the same effect as the yeast you were talking about (if it, too, should be avoided for SIBO).

I don’t recommend buying applesauce. It has additives and a lot of sugar. Making your own is best. Psyllium husk or flax egg can work as well. When someone has SIBO, it is better not to take any probiotic until the overgrowth is gone.

Almond flour and cassava substitute 1:1. But with the almond they may not be that flexible. You may want to add a bit of xanthan gum (maybe 1/2-1 tsp).

@@elisamarro7356 no, it is not the same. Tapioca is the isolated starch from total cassava. You can’t use it the same way. Tapioca could sub arrow root or corn starch.

You can use either cassava or almond flour. If you want to follow a more low carb approach then almond flour is the choice. Cassava is paleo, higher in carbs.
