madi h As someone that was born and raised in LA... please don’t. The LA metro area is already overpopulated with 13 million people, many of which are transplants. Traffic is the worst not in just the country, has been named the worst in world according to numerous outlets, our infrastructure can’t handle more cars. Beaches are dirty and overcrowded. Plus cost of living/housing is probably double/triple where you come from unless you’re moving from New York. LA is never as glamorous as people seem to expect either so maybe reconsider.

Was looking for this video since it popped up on Facebook; I too love the concept of the seasons and how each dessert fits to their respected theme from the raindrop cake in Spring to the jiggly cheesecake in Winter It’s funny because years ago one of the restaurants that I use to work with had seasonal menus using the ingredients that can only be used during a particular season which in turn made us create newer recipes or turn old ones new again and I loved it so much that I started putting that same mentality and creativity when I cook at home

Ruth Blithe69 its okay everyone makes mistakes, the important thing is that you realize you made one and apologize and move on. Im not fighting you but I hate hearing people talk about how broke or rich others are. Its wrong and people shouldn’t be judged based upon how much money they make.

This was so sweet. I definitely think my obaachan understands the ending, she's lived in California for almost 50 years now but she still cooks Japanese food every single day. Since I grew up with her cooking and Japanese food in general, I like to say that my comfort food isn't chicken noodle soup or meatloaf...it's ramen and tonkatsu lol (and sushi of course). Listening to Rie talk about the food and her home is so nostalgic for me too, I loved it.

I was trying to figure out why Rie's voice is so calming for me to listen to. I realized it's because of her accent; it reminds me of my relatives that are Japanese and the only memories I have of my Japanese relatives are pleasant ones, centering around making and eating delicious food. Thanks, Rie!
