Roll up saheena is a very popular fried street food in Trinidad made with dasheen bush leaves and other ingredients. Now there are 2 types of saheenas, this being the roll up one and the other is the chip up saheena. These are served with your favorite chutneys and I do have a recipe with chip up saheena as well as tamarind chutney which is listed at the bottom.
This recipe does not have a specific measurement because the size of the leaves varies and it all depends on what size you wish to make. For this recipe these are my measurements
INGREDIENTS:
Dasheen bush leaves 15 (small and medium)
1 small pack grind dhal
1/2 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
salt to taste
Tumeric
Curry powder
Roasted ground geera/cumin
Green Seasoning and few drops of lemon juice
Chilli flakes (optional)
Room temperature water for mixture and oil for frying.
