Make sure to put the phrase "make your own spark plug wires" somewhere in the post for the American audience! This is one of the best videos so far on the subject!

Nothing like seeing people do what they love and be great at it. They don't call Al "Turbo Yoda" for nothing. Keep on putting out the shows and we will keep eating it up! Great videos guys! 🍺

Turbo Yoda and Dave have entered the golden age of their youtube channel. They are both total nuggets and dont take themselves seriously at all, but they make one of the best car / DIY shows on YT. I am a huge fan. Thanks boys.

American raised on a farm by a mechanic and we've always called them leads as well. Since they can be carbon filled calling the wires seems dumb....they arent wire.

@datasailor81324 жыл бұрын
Question for Al and Woody or anyone else for that matter. Is there a coil on plug system that can live on an open plug down there near the exhaust? All that I’ve seen are nestled between twin cams or on Mopar Hemis where they have physical support and are in a cooler location. They’d have to be both strong and heat resistant.

Ign smart coils vs factor ls9 coils? Which is better based upon performance of the coil?
@IOUaUsername4 жыл бұрын
I've been thinking of switching my car to ignition leads and separate coils, rather than a single pack that you need to replace all 4 coils when one dies. Is it really as straightforward as just wiring the coil triggers into the loom? Would the ECU not throw a code due to different resistance or something?
@JamesCairney4 жыл бұрын
Best swapping the ECU aswell, I would guess looking at their halteck coils, it probably has an after market ECU aswell

we're in Australia so they're called leads. deal with it.
@datasailor81324 жыл бұрын
In the good old days they’d have been called the secondary leads or the high tension leads here in the US. This is to differentiate them from the 12 volt primary leads.
@STAG1624 жыл бұрын
@@datasailor8132 noted. but I very highly doubt Al or Woody would work on anything old enough to have anything more than one set of HT leads as you'd call them.

Sometimes the terminology difference can cause confusion. I clicked on this thinking it was going to be about wiring from the ignition switch, and (or), the starter solenoid(s). Turns out you were making plug wires.
