Me too. Or actually I was vegan and I ran every day for about 15 years. Past 6 months I started feeling hopeless about the world and I stopped doing everything right. Opposite of what you'd imagine could help things. One month ago I started the plantbased lifestyle again and I've started running every day again and I'm so happy to be on it again. It's the best choice you can make.

Another thing he mentions, briefly, is his "protracted battle with alcoholism". As a person 18 years in recovery, myself, I am always so grateful when someone as amazing and inspiring as Rich shares this fact of his personal journey to optimal health with the world. He is such a powerful, powerful example of what we can accomplish when we are able to overcome these things that hold us back from our potential and our passions~ the sky is the only limit! Beautiful!!

Oh stop your exhibitionism. You should be ashamed to admit that you were a stinking, pathetic heroin addict. Keep it in the closet. Recover a shred of dignity and nobility. By the way, the addictive power of heroin is vastly overrated and romanticized. No it's not. Humans are an endurance species. You can literally be an alcoholic with good endurance. Saying endurance is the ultimate fitness test is like saying the true test of a sports car is its top speed. Being fit requires physical strength, endurance, and power. I would argue that for humans physical strength would be the ultimate test, given how much we have to work for it.
@frodothehobo99386 жыл бұрын
sideways Tree boi. Because fitness is not defined by one aspect, especially not the one we are born to be good at and almost don't have to try to improve on. I literally do not do active cardio, i walk a lot. The only time i actually do cardio is in the summer when its nice outside i go out into nature. I go hiking or something. My fitness is almost 90% lifting weights and i can jog a 4 mile uphill trail first day of the summer. No thats not particularly impressive, but it goes to show that humans are so good at endurance you actually dont even need to train for it to be good at it.
@frodothehobo99386 жыл бұрын
sideways Tree boi. Except cheetah's are extremely strong for their size still. Fitness is an all inclusive endeavor. Having good endurance and not being able to deadlift 405lbs is not fitness. You can be an athlete, and not fit. Competitive endeavors and fitness are seperate. For example you would not consider ray williams fit, or healthy. But seeing as how he squats 1085lbs raw, you would absolutely consider him strong. And good at his sport. Deadlifting 405lbs is novice standards. Follow any time proven novice program for a year and you can pull 405 by the end of it. Its just not that hard.
@frodothehobo99386 жыл бұрын
sideways Tree boi. I have enough cardiovascular endurance to not die an early death, thats really the only reason i maintain it

Awesome interview and I love how Rich answered the questions Klaus had. I’ve recently gotten back to vegan 🌱 full time from keto. Type 2 diabetes behind me. Purchased a new aluminum hybrid bike which when the snow is gone here in Canada 🇨🇦, I’ll be out on the trails. I still go to the gym 3-4 times per week. Turning 55 March 31st, so not as much weight lifting, but more cardio to get fit and lean. 20gr of fat per day (naturally occurring fat from vegan foods). Lots of healthy carbs, vegetables and fruit. Just grab life and have fun !! 🚴🚴🚴🍑🥭🌾🏊♂️🚣♂️🥗🍠🌽🥦🥝🍅🫑🌶🍍🍉🍌
