If you don't know your seed, I suggest wandering around outside with the volume up. When you hear the first star (because they _do_ have a distinctive sound), drop your tool and look up at the sky and wait for the next minute or so. You might miss that first star, but, with patience, you should catch the rest. :)

I realize this is an old video, but if you are having trouble seeing shooting stars i suggest turning your volume up at night. You can actually HEAR the shooting stars. The first time I ever saw one it was bc I heard a different in the background music and thought hunnhhh, did they add something special to the music?? But it was the shooting stars falling. I got like 40 that night!

I've been playing daily for 7 months and never had a meteor shower. Yes Celeste as been to my island and I got a few stars then *and I do mean a few, like 5 once a hour*. But not once has a meteor shower happened on my island. I'm frustrated and believe my island hates me.

I’ve been playing for the past two weeks and tonight’s my first ANNOUNCED meteor shower, but I’ve seen a bunch before and gotten star fragments, and Celest gave me my second recipe (Leo sculpture).

Personally how I found my seed is I had a day with a light meteor shower. Every time I saw a shooting star I would wait till it changed to the next minute then saved a clip on my switch. Then I sent it to my phone. Now time to find the exact seconds. If in the clip the time changed from one time to the next in my case the stars appeared during 7:44 and in the 30s clip it changed to 7:45 at 27 seconds this means whatever time in the clip a star appeared I would have to add 33 seconds (60 - time when minute changed). Next you'll want to take when any stars appeared in the clip. I suggest starting from the end of the clip and working your way back. In my case I had a light shower so I would start at star 5 when putting it into MeteoNook. You then want to add your what Im going to call seconds not captured (SNC for short. this is the result of the 60 - TWMC(time when minute changed in clip)) and add that to the time when the star appeared in the clip (or when you heard the sound of a star appearing if you can't visually see it if you're behind a building or something) this makes finding your exact seed a lot easier especially if stars are so few and far between. For me the last star in the minute appeared at 24 seconds meaning it appeared 57 seconds into the minute (doing 24 + our SNC). Using this method I did some testing and used 3 different minutes on 1 day of a light meteor shower. The first minute at 7:44 had 4 stars I was able to record seconds for. At 7:52 I had two stars I recorded the seconds for. At 8:20 I had 3 stars but at first it had said it couldn't find a seed as one star had come at 8:20:58 and I had wished on it. If you didn't know during the wishing animation the in-game timer disappears. This had made me think the time had changed at 28 seconds (the time when the time reappeared after wishing on the star) when it had actually changed at 27 seconds into the clip. I figured this was the case so I raised each star in the calculations by one second which gave me my seed (if your star had appeared at 59 as well just write down something that just says to say it appeared at 57 seconds as meteonook allows for up to 4 seconds of it being late and only seconds at 59 and 58 have I had this issue). So this is a great method to find you seed in one night for but if you're doing this I'd suggest not wishing on the last one in a batch of 5 as it could mess up your calculations. For me personally I found that I had at least one light shower per week usually. Also you can put your weather data into MeteoNook just to see if you have a chance of getting a meteor shower (heavy showers appear on Fine00 days, and light showers appear on Fine02, Fine04, Fine06 days). Feel free to try this method yourself and tell me how it goes (but other methods do work as well but I just found this to be the fastest waiting out for 40mins but some meteor shower nights you may not have stars for over an hour). Also your channel is very underrated and deserves more attention.

Then do the math from there by analyzing the video footage to figure out your seed by counting back the seconds from 60. It also helps to use MeteoNook to predict if you might have a shower that day just by putting that day’s weather data in.

Maybe a stupid question but... When there is a meteor shower, can it be seen from EVERYWHERE on the island? Or just one spot? (Meaning, anywhere with a clear view of the sky or...just one spot like the beach or on a cliff?)

Good question! It can be seen from anywhere on your island. Sometimes a tree or cliff can make it more difficult to see, but you'd still get the audio cue and if you look up and press A, you'd still get credit for it. I have a couple of places on my island with a really nice view that I like to go to when I'm looking for them.

when you input the starting weather at the start of the hour, how many hours of info do you have to input. obviously you can't input 24/7 data, but is there an amount of hourly weather inputs you need to or can put in for the data.

You can input as little as 1 hour. Every little bit helps, but the more hours the better. The best info for the tool seems to be things like a Celeste visit, rainbows, and heavy meteor showers. There are so many combinations though. So some people can get lucky and find their seed quickly, while it may take longer (and more info) for others. Also, this section of the MeteoNook FAQ section may be helpful: There are over 2 billion possible weather seeds, but only one is correct for your island. MeteoNook goes through every single possibility, calculates the weather it would give, and checks it against the data you provide. If it doesn't make sense (e.g. you said you had rain at a given time, but the seed would make it sunny) then that possibility is ignored. During testing, we've had success with the following combinations... The known dates for between 5 and 7 heavy showers The known hour and minute times for stars in a light shower, spanning between 1 and 3 hours The known hour, minute and second times for a few different stars in a light shower The known dates and times for between 5 and 7 rainbows It is of course heavily randomised, though. You might get lucky and find yours with less information, or you might need more!

I've tried and I've tried, and I still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, because every time I try to use the site, it tells me the same thing. The information you have for XXXXXX doesn't match any of the possible weather patterns for that date. Please double-check that data. I don't how many hours or what it's looking for, but it just won't work for me. I'm truly over this mess

I had this happen too. Try going through and changing your heavy/light rains or sunny/cloudy to just "rain" or "no rain." It can be really hard to tell on some of these which one it is so going with the more broad "rain" or "no rain" can help. Even if you just have one single input wrong, it will throw the whole thing off. I would just change one at a time and then try to run the seed again to see if you get a result. Hopefully you won't have to change all of them before getting something.

I had the same problem. No matter how many times, hourly weather logs didn't work. I left this stuff alone for four months, until Isabelle announced a meteor shower. I logged 31 minutes of falling stars and found my seed in under an hour. You'll have much better results with meteor showers, if you can find then in game. If possible, open the game every day to hear Isabelle's announcements. Meteor showers happen maybe once a month.

this is soooo late but i recently got acnh a few days ago (the 8th) and i’ve been occasionally time traveling when i’m to impatient to wait for things. i’ve been wondering when i’d get a meteor shower because i recently got the recipe for the shell wand and star fragments were up there, so i decided to try this tool to see when i’d get my first meteor shower after around three hours (one and a half last night and almost 2 today) of constantly failing to find my seed, and the constant error messages and wrong seeds, i was going to give up. but then i realized that with all of the seeds i had gotten, they had narrowed down on the 14th as my meteor shower day. so i time traveled to that day, and narrowed down the seconds where the stars fell by recording my switch with my phone AND I FAILED AGAIN but after a few seconds of deleting a few things and calming down, i finally got narrowed down to three seeds, and the first i clicked on managed to have my shooting star seconds down to the DOT

Time travel will NOT change the weather seed! So you can actually time travel to find your weather seed even faster if you want. Once you have the seed, you'll know the exact weather for any day/time you choose.

Best way I've learned to do it, is shooting stars. Especially if you have a heavy meteor shower. Shooting stars have 5 or 8 stars per minute (only 5 if a small shower). Log EVERY MINUTE you see stars for a couple hours and there is a GOOD CHANCE that you get your weather seed (again best if heavy shower). My mom had to get my seed (she got her seed first) because even with accurate information, to my knowledge, it wouldn't find it correctly after MANY ATTEMPTS. It turned out one set of stars, I was off by a minute and a rainbow, I was off by an hour. It is painstaking! But if you get your seed, it'll be worth it.
