It is easier to say no at the store than bring it home and say no all week long😇

It took me 30 years, but I finally realized, I am an abstainer. Not a moderator. I know some of these nutritionist, dietitians, personal trainers have good intentions, but when someone tells you if they have one bite, it will be the entire package. Believe them and help them from there. Don't keep keep telling them to just use moderation. It's just not helpful, demoralizing, and defeating. And, it reinforces the feeling of being a failure and that something is wrong with you.

So true. I am now 77 and it took me until age 70 to finally admit that I cannot moderate. Slow learner! I have been sugar and grain free since September 2017. Eventually I also had to give up all keto substitutes. Food freedom! No more addictive brain chatter telling me to learn to moderate! I still have overeating issues and there are other foods I have to eliminate because I can now see clearly that they are addictive (cheese, nuts). Now with abstinence my brain has finally settled down.

Look into research on amino acids and addiction. I started supplementing with 2 and my mood went way up and the cravings disappeared. It feels good to not feel like I'm white knuckling life while still feeling defeated. It's easier to make it through a slow loss or plateau when feeling happy instead of deprived.

Jess, I randomly ran across your video this morning while scrolling thru KZbin, and realized I haven't been getting my KZbin notifications whenever you do a new video, even tho I've been subscribed to your channel for a long time. So I immediately unsubscribed, and then re-subscribed. I saw this suggestion in the comments on someone else's video recently, so I decided to try it. Hopefully I'll now start getting my video notifications again for your channel. In the mean time, it looks like I'll be doing a bunch of binge watching of all your videos I've missed seeing. You look terrific, BTW, and I know you'll continue looking even better. You're going to get to that goal weight, I have no doubts about that! Keep up the good work.

Jess , Ive been following for 5 years Also have been in a roller coster with my weight which turned into binge eating! I’m still working on myself just like you, but I came to the opposite realization, and i think now you are in the upper side of the coster and you will reach a point where you will binge! I’m not trying to be mean, just trying to help if I can , the moderation starts by realizing that things aren’t forbidden, by not restricting, it took me a lot to give up to this idea but once you do , it will set you free , and you recovery journey will start

A lot of people would’ve given up a long time ago. I have also been on this journey and in this battle for my health. I have also been up and down and all around. You are so right when you say it is the little things. It’s the day to day consistent habits that lead to progress. It sounds simple, but it is not easy. There are many obstacles, it can get very boring and tedious, and the world, your emotions, etc. all tell you to just throw in the towel. Your test has become your testimony because you did not give up keep going you’ve got this! 🙏🙌🏼

I was wondering too. I miss the daily week updates. I hope Jess goes back to her format of 5 years ago with monthly challenges, weekly weigh ins, what I eat in a day, etc. I I loved those ADF videos. I guess I can always go back and watch the old ones. I suppose she is on a gentler path now and finding a new groove. As long as she is happy and healthy, that's all that matters.

I think the best way to approach it is to eliminate processed foods as a family. Our kids don’t need candy or other processed foods, it’s not any better for them than it is for us. For me it’s about the ingredients. The dyes, the inflammatory seed oils, the corn syrup and tons of sugar… I put my family on a low oxalate animal based diet, my kids still get a little rice, potatoes, fruit, and sourdough but the rest of their diet is animal based. Not having that stuff in the house helps immensely too. They don’t need junk food and neither do we, we don’t need to waste money on stuff that has zero nutritional value and just harms them. My kids do get yum earth gummies usually 1-2 times a week and occasionally Justin peanut butter cups. I occasionally make homemade ice cream (zero sugar, I could do honey for the kids). There will be the random occasion that I allow them to have a junk food treat, but it’s rare. They are happy and healthy without that stuff and I can live more peacefully without those kinds of temptations around me. I eat mostly carnivore, I’m definitely an abstainer too. Although since it’s become more about ingredients for me I wouldn’t even eat the junk food I used to love. Sometimes I really miss Krispy Kreme lol but knowing what’s in them and how it harms my body, plus knowing it will trigger a binge… it’s just not even an option. I’ve been eating this way for so long now it’s just part of my life. Down 40lbs now with a lot more to go, I’ve had to restrict my calories but that’s okay. Whatever it takes to heal and lose the fat.
@CM-sy3to8 ай бұрын
It's nice to limit family "junk food" to holidays. Like Christmas eve and day but not a whole season. Thanksgiving have the mashed potatoes and stuffing, July 4th hotdogs and potato salad. Go to a restaurant for an anniversary meal. Have a birthday cake on the birthday. But day to day, everyone on healthy, whole foods. I even like packing food for vacations because a whole week of quick cook or restaurant food is sickening.
@diana68428 ай бұрын
I did my best when the kids were little when I'd go through spells of no junk food in the house at all. Once or twice a week, I'd take the kids for an ice cream or whatever, but no tubs of ice cream would be brought into the house. No bags of chips. No packages of cookies. Sweets and junky stuff was limited to going out to get a single serving - not having it packed in the house.

I think I’ve figured you out!! What will you post on youTube once you are at your goal weight? Write down 30 things you will post about after you reach your goal otherwise this channel will go 0:01 caput Or you will put weight back on to have something to talk about. It’s like Nikocado Avocados channel is about Mukbang ie massive eating/feasting only and he has gained at least 250 lbs but hes probably afraid people will not tune in if he loses all the weight. Will those same subs be interested in mindfulness?? Your health is much more important than KZbin.

You know we can get fustrated with the ups and down but I don’t think I would sabotage myself for a channel I don’t think she does either it’s really that we struggle with food addiction back and forth I’m the same just look at many KZbin keto channels who have started to gain and actually quit KZbin as they get hateful comments
