I was painting a 1200 Sportster that I had. Did something very similar to what happened to you. The sleeve of my sweatshirt brushed the side of the tank. I did the old head shake of shame. After that it was back to square one. 😊

Hi Kevin, I just did my oil change on my M8 128. noticed my oil was grainy and there was sand like residue left on the oil catch towards the end. The dimple magnetic plugs were normal will usual fuzz.

Oil filter (K&P) had a bit of sand as well. Bike runs fine, but I’m worried. Should I flush the engine (AMSOil Flush) and clean the throttle body (Liqui Moly TB cleaner)? I did the oil change (Liquimoly HD 20-50 Synth) but happy to do it over again as well to get sand out. My air filter seems to be the cause. I was stupid as well and rode thru heavy rain without a sock, which I think made it worse. Intake area dusty, dirty from inside and water splash marks all over. Have ordered new air intake (Feuling BA cleaner). Already run both Trask transmission cover + Feuling vented dipstick.

Hey I have a question may be stupid or something, but I’m want to upgrade my 96” to 107”, I have a chance to get some 107 like new cylinders and pistons from a Milwaukee 8 engine, will the cylinders fit in my twin cam? Thanks guys anyone can answer for me awesome!! Thanks

I'm not a hater but I hate to bust your bubble, but you can never get a true HVLP out of a 3/8 airline. You must have at least a three-quarter or 5/8 th 😮 inch hose and HVLP coupler. HVLP means high-volume low-pressure. And when people use an HVLP with a 3/8 airline that defeats the purpose. Ciao for now.

I also agree with this statement...but I am learning on my own bike. Being a painter doesnt make someone a great mechanic either...but I rebuild a bunch of bikes built by "painters". Bottom line...I have mad respect for anyone willing to try...and to learn a new skill. I make no claim to be a painter or an expert...or even really experienced on the subject...but I am learning (from some of the best) and trying. I can only hope others do the same with humility, eagerness to learn, and an open mind. Even if they are painters trying to be mechanics. All above said respectfully.... Thanks for the comment.
