"She never got her dream wedding" so your response is to make sure Op doesn't get hers? If having your dream wedding is _such_ an important thing that it's a tragedy when someone doesn't get it, you'd think they'd realize how unfair it is to deny Op of hers.

Not just the fiance, but his entire family? *shudder*. If she goes ahead with it, Op's wedding is more likely to resemble an episode of the Simpsons than a fairytale. Not kidding; this post genuinely reminds me of the episode where Ned Flanders' wife dies, and he tries to physically transform his new girlfriend into her (S.11 E.14)

This is way more complicated than any single comment can convey. *** My stepdad was broken for a few years after my mom died. And I honestly think he will never love anyone as much as my mother. But he still deserves to have a companion. He’s “only” 61. He may live another 30 years, more years than he and my mother knew each other. I only object when the late spouse’s presence (or lack thereof) is always bubbling under the surface.

My dad's only child with his first wife was a boy, they both died in a car crash when she was eight months pregnant. He and my mom had one boy together and then they produced four girls. Mom wanted so badly to give him another son and they agreed to have one last child and quit after that. Well, they got me, the fourth girl but they were happy because I have brown hair and blue eyes, unlike the other girls who have black hair and brown eyes. My brother also has the blue eyes and brown hair, and we both resemble Mom. 😂 My sisters resemble Dad.

Of course these kids are rowdy, even if OP didn't have those weird ideas.

I agree, I remember being a small child and telling women "my dad isn't rich, go away" just because I felt a vibe off and wrong. My parents think I don't remember certain things/people but I do, my dad thinks I only disliked certain women after my mom said she did, no man, I could fake nice when they gave me toys, didn't mean I liked them, just meant I sided with my mom while getting free crap, I never actually liked them, but if they're going to play a game, let me play it better, no one expects that a child is capable of it, but they are and they're either game players or immediately going for the "fuck off bitch" side of things, kids don't get enough credit for being as smart as they actually are.

Story 4: it would be one thing if OP’s husband was upfront about his feelings of insecurity after what his friend went through. Like a paternity test isn’t an awful thing to ask for when it’s not wrapped up in a bunch of accusations. There are so many stories of men who find out they are raising someone else’s child after having absolutely no inclination that that could be the case. It makes sense that someone would have that type of insecurity, but rather than express that to his wife up front, he just shut down, stopped communicating, and stopped being a dad without any evidence or confirmation of concerns. He abandoned his wife without any communication and then came in, I guess, weeks??? later with absolutely no feeling and basically just saying, I’m not a dad to our kids anymore until I get a DNA test. He abandons his, abandons is his kids, and has absolutely nothing to base his decision off of. I could never come back from that. I don’t care if he turns around after a while and comes to his senses. I would be done, and I would absolutely shove it down his throat that I would have been SO willing to get a test if he was honest and straight forward with me. Instead, he can get a paternity test and divorce papers. F that. Just saw the last update 😭😭😭 wtf

If you ever suspect that a partner is using drugs (especially IV drugs), then the best places to check in the bathroom besides inside/behind/under the toilet tank would be: on top of any high up cabinet, under the sink, including the feeling around the top side to make sure nothing is taped up, under any low cabinets, inside any vents, on the underside of really anything that can be lifted up, and then in cabinets especially if there's a lip that prevents seeing spots, again like the ceiling of the cabinets where things could be taped/stuck. Basically you have to go into this search expecting to find it in the most unlikely spot and start there. Its not hard to hide a small kit and a kit can be easily overlooked if you're looking in regular spots. An addict isn't going to just leave their kit in a drawer unless they know it wont be found. However, you would probably need to look at other places in the home too because not all addicts hide their kits in bathrooms due to likelihood of being found. (Experience: prior IV addict that's been in recovery for coming up on 8 years)

It's all a hard pass no for story 1. And they're using grief to disrespect you and I know grief is grief but it's not like the accident happened last week. While I believe in the afterlife, she's gone and won't probably know. This is hijacking and ruining your day, and your life.

Regarding the story of "sticky fingers". I'm a retired nurse and it was amazing what people would steal and get away with. I was working in a large 3 storied clinic and we couldn't keep framed pictures on the walls in the bathrooms. Yep. they were somehow lifted and nobody saw them walking out the door with it. We're all busy, but it's amazing they can find a back hall or an emergency exit to get out of. These weren't expensive prints, but still. I later worked in a a major Sports Clinic in the city, with an open area behind the reception desk where all patients for all doctors passed through or waited for prescriptions, x-rays, notes, copies of labs, or got weighed, etc. The clinic was full to brim with memorabilia from pro baseball players, autographed photos; collectible items from Olympic medalists and a variety of notable/famous sports figures. One day a large framed, collectible, autographed team picture was removed from the wall of this open space. I'm talking about 2' X 3' here, not something you hide under your jacket. It was glued at the 4 corners to the wall with that contractors super-strength bonding glue. It was so solid on the wall that it took 4 chunks of wallboard out with it as it was yanked off the wall. Nobody noticed the theft as the clinic was extremely busy at times, and once in a while everybody was busy in the back rooms or on the phones. We did have a back entry where famous sports figures could arrive and go straight into a prepared room without waiting in the public waiting room. It's the nerve and gall of the thing to, RIGHT THERE swipe something, when at any moment somebody could rush around the corner and catch you red-handed. Maybe that's the thrill. The higher the risk the bigger the adrenaline rush. Later, like months---maybe a year--- a framed, actual cotton jersey that belonged to Babe Ruth disappeared from a room (we had several of these scattered throughout the rooms). It was a room that had been quiet as that doctor was on vacation, so it took a while for somebody to notice it was gone. These things were worth tens of thousands or more. These things were insured, but money doesn't replace the irreplaceable items stolen. At still another clinic, we were having trouble with money being taken out of purses while we ate in a lunchroom on the top floor. Our purses were left reception at the front desk with a sweet, very plain and rather dull receptionist who covered the phones during lunch break. Still the money went missing, so cameras were installed. It was the trusted, quiet, mother of 3, receptionist!! Talk about the fox guarding the henhouse!! Sheesh! Nobody in a million years would have ever guessed it was her. When we'd discover money gone, she always talked about being in a back room filing charts or copying doctors notes, and a host of other things, and that the theft must have happened at those times.

Story 4: Honestly, I don't blame her. I understand his fear, but the way he did this shattered the trust. He needed to sit down and talk about his anxiety with her. Anxiety isn't rational, and that's understandable. However he was boderline cruel about it. He's entitled to his feelings, but she's just as entitled to her's. He's actively neglecting the child, and that's fucked up. ETA: Ok, this guy needs to go screw himself. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

Story 1- my ex VERY recently passed (we were roommates for years after breaking up, and he moved out a few months before passing, so we were still close). These are conversations I'm having with my SO, but I'm also in grief therapy before I ruin us. Story 2- I'm listening to this while buying a ladel, so I'm a little jealous 😂

I work overnights in a hotel at the front desk. We had one set of guests, and early the next morning, the threesome was caught on the basement cameras sprinting towards the basement door carrying the room's lamps, wall paintings, trash cans, tissue box holder from the bathroom, and a couple of pillows. WTF.

I'm going to be perfectly honest on story for the original poster has a better chance just winning in court then dragging out her situation with her ex-husband she already has proof of infidelity she already has proof that the house is hers and you know the only thing she could really go for is maybe making it where she has more custody compared to her ex

I've responded to you before, thanking you for these reminders of self-love. I'm disabled and able to live perfectly well on my own and really never thought I was, or had reason to be, uptight as I no longer work and pretty much do whatever I feel like every day. But I found out that doing this does unwind something inside me and I do feel better. So this is a long-winded way of saying Thank You for your daily reminders and it is appreciated. 🥰
