"The person that has 100 lbs to lose at one point only had 20-30" Lillie, this is spot on and touch me profoundly! I kept thinking the 20 lbs would take care of itself. Now, 20 years later, I am sitting at needing to lose 90 lbs. Great video!

I have 20 lbs to lose. 20-30 lbs is a lot of extra weight to carry! It’s not healthy. Let’s focus and do it ladies 💪🏼
@victoryluck6 ай бұрын
Someone was complaining to me, saying that an extra ten pounds is no big deal. Here is how you know that ten pounds is definitely a big deal..... Fill a tote bag with several things (anything) until it weighs ten pounds. The way to know is ... get on the scale and remember the number ... then, keep getting on the scale, and each time, put more things into the tote bag, until the scale goes up ten pounds.... so then you have a ten pound tote bag. Then, attempt to carry that ten pound tote bag for a whole day, and never put it down, even if you have to sit down and keep it on your lap.... and see how you feel ....see how long you can carry that ten pound tote bag, until you can't stand it ... I don't think you will make it to the end of the day. This is what ten extra pounds is really like. Your heart has to pump blood to all of those extra ten pounds, all the time. It is amazing to me ... that an overweight person can carry a hundred extra pounds on his body all day ... but if you ask him to lift a box that weighs 100 pounds, he can't lift it. So, of course, it is difficult to run up the stairs very fast, when you are "only" ten pounds overweight. Try running up the stairs very fast carrying that ten pound tote bag also.

Menopause - ask your doc to recommend a doc that will prescribe HRT. I do everything she says to do, and have been for years. This is an excellent video!! Listen to it over & over. There are honestly NO excuses!!! I don't want to hear about the exceptions to the rules. I am 68, 5'6", size 8, 135 lbs., and a 9. Weight lifting is the fountain of youth. It is a must! I lift heavy. Eat right! Eat low carb, high protein. Do food prep. Just do it!

I am 56 and in menopause -was really doing well with keto before and at goal weight, walking every day etc loving my life - menopause has been incredibly life changing - fatigue, joint pain, rapid weight gain - now carnivore and still struggling so bad - my family doctor retired a year ago and I am on a wait list for a new doctor in Canada ever since - I was able to get a referral (from online medical service)for a gynecologist recently and was contacted by their office to advise it was 24 month wait - so I need something besides HRT as an interim solution - Mostly I want to feel better but I also very much want the weight off again too - wish HRT was an easy answer. Even when I get the appointment, I expect I'll be refused because I have migraines and I was told that reduces my candidacy for HRT. If you have another suggestion - LOVE to hear it, - But will add the weight lifting -I have heard that before.
@nancyw83416 ай бұрын
@@MenopausalCarnivore-pg9yl A 24 month wait??? That's terrible. I would make sure to count your macros meticulously if you want to lose weight. Lower your calories. You may be eating too much fat on the carnivore diet. Even when I did keto I did not eat the fat they said to eat. I thought it was not healthy. You can't eat f a lot of fat and lose a lot of fat. The weight lifting will build muscle and the muscle helps your body burn fat. I wish you luck.

This is what I needed to hear. I’m in the 50lbs category and I actually got cocky after having short term success with keto multiple times. I actually said “I know I can easily lose 20lbs in a month and feel like a new person because I’ve done it before so I’m not going to feel too bad about where I am now”. But as I was saying that I was overeating junk food and gaining more weight that I knew I’d eventually have to work even harder to lose. It’s not something I can figure out later when it feels more urgent or convenient. This is my life and I need to change, now.

I agree with you on the basics. But you are being hard on yourself... I have been a Ketovore for about 9 months. Before that, I had to work out what diet would work for me... that was an add'l 3-4 months. As a 53 y.o. man, my goal was to get off the diabetic meds that were causing more arm then help. In the last year, I lost 96lbs. I am now off the meds. I am about 35lbs from my ideal weight. I am feelig great and I don't feel the need to cheat. So I feel like I am doing things right. But I had my struggles... What I have learned is don't be too hard on yourself! BUT STICK WITH THE PROGRAM but you might need to adapt! That's life!

Yes! Sleep has been my kryptonite for the last 5 years. Having babies helps me wake up early but they also worsen my insomnia. Running on less than 6 hours a night for the majority of that time has 100% hindered any weight loss. It’s pretty defeating that I’m still at pre baby weight and needing to lose 100lbs. Gaining 40lbs per two pregnancies back to back within that 5 year time is wild that the body can do that; which makes me optimistic to lose weight once I can sleep better.

I understand this type of content is more popular because there are more people (especially in the us) that need to lose weight and not gain it, but I wish there were more videos about putting on weight in a healthy manner. Omg, nothing like the honesty of a child! One of my 10-year-olds told me the same thing a couple of months ago. Already 14 lbs down, at least 12 to go

Does she know what being fat means? Hopefully she doesn’t say that to her friends.

I NEVER had a problem with my size and weight! When I hit Menapause I packed on the pounds, AS A VEGAN!! I eat clean, no junk food, no BS. No Meds! I have not been able to loose the weight! 😢
@jorty.5 ай бұрын
Menopause is tricky due to hormonal overweight. I think Dr. ERIC Berg talks about this and one more female dr Annette Bosworth /dr Boz that does keto, but I forgot her name. Surely do a YT search. She might pop up.

I am also in menopause and I used to really like Dr Bos@@jorty.But she requires a lot of lengthy fasting which raises cortisol and mixing my life miserable!

Nothing seems to be working fasting/keto, not working the way it did a decade ago 😕... would appreciate any tricks to get the metabolism needles running in the right direction again. P.s. your 85 yr old version looks awesome. Old age goals for sure 😊❤

I have to say I am disappointed at all the carnivores shilling for LMNT, that is basically an expensive packet of salt, the meager portion of potassium (200mg) Is a joke and so is the 60 mg of magnesium. the daily requirement of potassium alone is 4700mg is that little 200mg going to do much for you? Seriously? not even to mention the magnesium

It’s delicious and keeps me from drinking sodas and fruit juice. The various chocolate flavors satisfy my desire for dessert. I love LMNT for these reasons. It’s worth the price for me.

Yes it’s disappointing, It’s expensive for what it is, I would rather buy more meat

Maybe respect each person's choice and needs. Some can buy it, others can't. It's okay 😊

I think, at the moment, 85 year old me would be saying “why can’t we retire 😭”. My doctor suggested as a goal for me to try to limit ultra processed foods and added sugars (I’m trying to do under 24g added sugar most days) but allowing for one day a week of not being so strict on the ultra-processed foods. So basically aiming for 80-90% healthy eating and 10-20% can be treats/ultra-processed. For movement, I’m mostly focusing on walking at the moment (with some days doing dance, hula hoop, shooting hoops, or another activity), trying to work out 40 minutes, 4 days a week (or more). My doctor reminds me that progress isn’t linear and to think of it as steering/sailing a ship. Sometimes you get off course and have to steer yourself back on course. My doctor also says to work on small goals that can be easily attainable. Small steps can add up.

Or.... Go all in and go carnivore. The easiest diet to follow, you feel satiated, not hungry when you eat enough real meat and animal fat. You'll be in ketosis with no carbs and you'll be fat burning. No need for snacks or treats.
@dianetrue23966 ай бұрын
Swap that junk for real food options. Fill up on high quality protein. Even simple things like chicken. Than add some salad or vegetables. A bit of fruit last if necessary. Full fat Greek yogurt with berries n some raw nuts worked for me. Or try some good burger meat, some fried eggs a bit of real cheese or some bacon, maybe onions n mushrooms. So filling. The cravings will go away.

#1 medical and coaching advice to lose fat (lose weight) should be Get Happy. If a person is not happy with - job, life, spouse, relationship, location where they live and possibly all of the above. Seen many quit their job, got a divorce and moved to a new country, now they have lost a ton of fat.

Four best weight loss tips I was given. 1. Why are you thinking about food all the time? 2. You don’t need as much food as what you think you need 3. Don’t use food all the time for relaxation and entertainment 4. Eat more fiber!
