I found the ONE that reminds me of my Grandma's Potato Salad!

I have been on the Potato Salad chase for as long as I remember. My grandmother (now passed) made the best in the world - but none of us remember why. I made this for Memorial Day - and fell in love with it! My father thought it was very very close to what his mother made. So I'm one step closer :) ENJOY

I love potato salad. My mom made a great potato salad. I tried making it once and it turned out ok. Since it's just me I haven't made it again. When I want some I go to McAlisters and get some. I'm going to make a fruit salad this weekend. It sounds good

Ha ha grrrrr your banging on the pan lid I think it is 👍love potato salad , drink a cider at same time as eating potatoe salad don't bother about cider vinegar ha ha , could you not cut potatoes into pieces before cooking them ? Looks mushy , be nice with chopped ham or bacon bits in 👍does it need the oil , not sure on chill I'd cool potatoes first before adding the dressing , but hey oh , still looks yum 👍😘x

I actually cut up my potatoes before cooking, then drain and put on a sheet pan to cool. After cooling I put it all together. My dressing I keep very simple mayo and a tiny bit of mustard. Everything else is already in the salad, eggs, pickles, celery, onion, sliced black olives (optional). Yours looked delicious. 😋

My mom‘s potato salad, and now my potato salad was/is the best. Potatoes, eggs, celery & onions. The dressing: c mayo or more 2 or 3 tsp’s yellow mustard, 1 tbs or 2 of white sugar, 3 tbs sweet pickle relish, 2 or more tsp’s celery salt, 1 or more tsp’s Apple cider vinegar. Mix all the dressing ingredients together and incorporate that into your potatoes, eggs, celery, and onions, and salt and pepper taste. All the measurements for the dressing are guesstimates because it depends on how many potatoes you have. For best results make one day ahead of time. Important thing to remember; you want to be generous with the dressing, BUT you don’t want the potatoes to be swimming in the dressing, you can always add more, but you cannot remove excess 😊😊😊

Greetings, we always use chicken stock rather than the oil, to keep potatoes moist & adds flavor & decreases calories. We do this after cutting the hot potatoes . Yummy 😋 !

I was surprised there were no pickles either dill or sweet. I grew up eating mustard forward, mashed potato salad with dill pickles, which my hubby loves warm. My hubby grew up eating chunky, mayo forward, potato salad with sweet pickles. When my mother in law was able to cook and we had a get together, my girls always asked for her potato salad. She always made extra so they could take home leftovers.

Cannot wrap my head around the whole 1/3. Potatoes and mixing it over the hot potatoes will help hold them together. I mix my mayo dressing the night before and let all my flavors marry...oh and I make sure my potatoes are not hot at all when I mix it. Been making this for 47 years now and if I would my husband would eat potato salad for breakfast everyday.
