Makita might not always be the most powerful, but they absolutely vibrate less then any other brand and have the best ergonomics of the big 3. Thats huge for fatigue when youre using the tool all day.

Great videos mate especially for those of us in Aus, demystifying the process of building houses here is something that no one does, and is something that is sorely needed. Especially now with the non-trade public's perception of declining standards of workmanship. It would be great if you could mention what things you do that are mandatory for building code vs things you do that are optional but preferred for quality and longevity. Cheers keep up the good work 👍🏼

Definitely want to see the performance of 40v kit. I only have the mid torque wrench is 40v. You won't believe it is only mid torque wrench, power smash all. The rest of my skin is 18v for over a decade. Some skin is still used until today. I tried many different brand of tools, and they are all good and bad. In the end, I decided to stick with makita. My favourite cordless saw still 165mm 18v makita but keen to see 40v 165mm test. Your impact driver is Dtd154 ,I replaced it with 172 last year and feel power different, especially for driving the batten screw.

When using the 9 1/4 makita to not have to use the safety just cut a little wedge of oine with your knife and jam it in the safety and it will stay engaged. Makes it way easier to use

Hv you ever looked at the smart Square ? A lot of framers in the states use it and seem to love it ? Like Jarod at Coffman Construction? Check it out ? I do finish and really don’t need it but u would like it !

i agree with all of your words makita 18v is not much power full as others but the 18v compact is good as i used brand new 40 v for few months its doing some wierd and annoys me i think its faulty or so but the 18 v is good though does the job

That Makita impact is rubbish unfortunately. The DTD172 impact skin is unreal. Screws batten screws through steel using a 5.5mm dia hole all day long. Want something more impressive? 40v impact is something mind blowing. Awesome content as always mate, keep it up 👌🏻

The 40v impact driver? No sir, it’s the same as the 18v. The impact wrench is good but the impact driver is identical

I got a multi tool,grinder, drill+driver and skillsaw in DeWalt I like them but do I switch to Makita before I get to deep into DeWalt or just stick with it, main reason for switch is makitas getting cheaper for skins then DeWalt and everyone else has it

@@skeng6797 you reckon? Like I have nothing against DeWalt at all I love my tools, I got DeWalt socks cap and tool pouch to 😂. I'm just asking out mainly as everyone says switch to Makita but can never give me a genuine reason other then the fact they have it 🤷‍♂️ I'm just looking at prices wise ATM the world's costly 😅

I'm in the States & run Makita 18v. In my 20+ years experience with using all major brands, I've found Makita to be the most reliable & usually ergonomically preferred. I have some really old batteries, chargers & tools that still operate nearly as well as when they were new. That being said, Milwaukee & Dewalt are much more common here & run much better promotional sales, whereas Makita seldom does. Makita is also much slower to innovate/update/bring out new tools. I've had good and bad tool experiences with the competition but I can't recall ever being reasonably disappointed with Makita. For me, if I'm spending my money, Makitas reliability trumps any of their shortcomings.

@@kragjrgensen What's the good version? Not sure how they can't get more from their 18V range and even their 40V impact is not as powerful as the milwaukee and new dewalt one. I know speed isn't everything for power tools but it seems like one of those tools where you really want that extra torque.

@@conorocallaghan9703 yeah, no one competes with milwaukee in terms of strength. But you have to look at other factors. Durability, reliability, price, and size. I think makita is a good all round. But if milwaukee had better durability, id take that one. But that simply is not the case.

@@kragjrgensen That's fair, but makita is just as expensive as Milwaukee and more expensive than Dewalt at least in Australia for most of their stuff and their impacts weight more.
