From what I’ve read this routine was employed by Tyson in the weeks leading up to a fight. He would train this way six days a week for about 5 weeks prior to the fight. He would usually drop 15 to 20 pounds while in training camp to make his fight weight of 220 pounds. That explains the relatively low calorie consumption for such a work load. Great video by the way. Real insight into how tough Tyson’s training was.

I bet mike Tyson couldn’t do his full routine on the first day. It probably took at least a couple months for his body to acclimate to that much work. Being able to do that and still able to walk the next day is definitely something amazing. Congratulations Will you did that! Should be proud of yourself.
@21istheone553 жыл бұрын
i doubt he did as much as mike tyson did but yeah
@repeataftermeme752 жыл бұрын
Maybe when he first started his career. During training camp you don’t have a couple months to get acclimated. You’d waste too much time. That’s why it’s so important for fighters to stay in shape at all times to be ready at any moment. Most fighters get 6-12 weeks depending on the contract to prepare their body and mind. That’s not a lot of time. Especially when you add in all the traveling for interviews, press, and anything else like promotional photo shoots. All that takes away from training time so their free time is mostly dedicated to training and it’s important that they take advantage of that as much as possible. So I doubt it took Mike months to get acclimated. Maybe a week at most. We have to remember fighters and many other sports athletes start conditioning from childhood. Mike may have got a later start than most fighters as he started his journey around age 11-13 where most start around age 5-8. His genetics in his childhood pictures speak for themselves and obviously helped him adapt faster than others.

I ate 3000 to 4000 calories on the weekdays and had one small meal and a snack on the weekends. I did hundreds of pushups along with ring dips and other assorted ring and calisthenics workouts AND I supplemented some weights in their too (I only had/have dumbells). I did shadowboxing daily (except for Sunday). I woke up at 4am. I ate super clean. I had one rest day (Sunday). On Saturday I'd do a couple hundred pushups and call it good. Track workouts are a lot different. There is a lot of resting involved. And you can't go all out. It's more about form and technique. But extremely hard. I've Boxed, ran Track & played football. I'd have to say, Track was the hardest of them all. The shortest event is the 100 meters. That's the length of a football field. Let that settle in. Your body literally goes into shock everytime you train & it drains your brain bc it's more of a neurological workout more than muscles. Research it.

I love heavy bag training, I do 3 minutes straight, & rest 1 minute, & do that 5x. Little trick to not completely burn yourself, don't throw punches at full power 😁 happy lifting y'all
@marcobuffon85024 жыл бұрын
The goal is to hit as hard or as fast as you can thats How you get better you can do endurance training at the end but if you never hit hard how do you expect to knock somebody out
@killerrmaaniac4 жыл бұрын
@@marcobuffon8502 facts right here bro, Tyson himself said his heavybag routine was full power, every Mike tyson workout was on the highest intensity, and that's true heavybag is very good for developing power Tyson would punch the hardest he could.
@boxingexpert99194 жыл бұрын
@@marcobuffon8502 yes exactly ur spot on.. In fact he would actually be better doing 5 one minute rounds at an all out pace then build up to 2 minutes then 3 minutes cus dmatto style was every punch has to be thrown with bad intentions... Imagine a sprinter training by doing a light jog he will never win... Yes you must pace yourself and throw at the right times but every time u do throw throw with everything you got not with half your ability like this guy says but boxing is learning game you learn along the way
@MarkzBaui264 жыл бұрын
once youve mastered technique, you have to work your physical attributes so throwing at full power is necessary when you want to become more powerful just do it with the right technique so you dont accidentally break your joints and learn when to stop

but the whole point of the heavy bag is to strike at your fullest power 🤦🏾♂️ stick to lifting nerd

He didn’t use feints, weaves and foot movements so it wasn’t hard to figure it out if you actually know how to box and trains on the daily you’ll see what I meant. Again it’s a Routine and diet plus workout. If you trying to do this ! Learn to box correctly so you won’t embarrass your self at a gym or whatever. Just a advice.
