Tennessee state law: Other than a traffic stop (where an officer has PC to believe you have violated a traffic law), you are only required to ID if you have been lawfully arrested.

Cop kept saying we run everyone when we come in contact. They were on PRIVATE property and the cop even admitted the doctor office probably didn't call, so cops had NO legal right to be there or question them. Always have your windows most of the way up and doors locked!

On top of that it wasn't a traffic stop so the cops can't order anybody out of the car. Pennsylvania vs Mimms says the cops can order people out of the car during traffic stops for officer's safety. But again this wasn't a traffic stop so they can't order anybody out of the car.

This is unbelievable & happens to often! I am in a small town & our LE have no bodycams, told “reports weren’t given anymore” & to top it off I was verbally assaulted yet the cop based his attitude by the caller which was the husband of the one that assaulted me, she was wrong yet I caught the heat of attitude from an cocky officer. Thank God a 2nd officer seen through it & knew I did nothing wrong. The cocky officer also said he didn’t care what a judge said (I informed them the judge said “she was to drop off items & LEAVE” she came looking for trouble & refused to leave therefore the situation grew bc of her behavior) he said he didn’t care & he wasn’t there to hear it. Seriously?! So how exactly am I supposed to get “paperwork” from a judge to prove she wasn’t to be there the day after court?!
