Barry Bend and in Gundam Wing whenever civilians did happen get killed in the chaos of war, the show portrayed it with a heavy emphasis as being tragic and heartbreaking and morally reprehensible. The exact opposite of how the lunatics who wrote this comic portray senseless sadistic violence. Thank God that Japanese entertainment and culture in general is free from Western cultural Marxism. That scene from Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz where Gundam Pilot Herro Yui is cradling a dead puppy named Mary in his arms after a little girl, (Who he had been having a conversation with earlier that day) the puppy’s owner was accidentally killed by one of the bombs he had detonated is one of the most heartbreaking scenes I have ever seen in an anime, made even more heart rending after his superiors insist that he bury his humanity and not dwell on the civilian casualties of war since according to them it doesn’t really matter because the ends justify the means for him to accomplish his mission.

I wonder if anyone at the company actually realizes that if your heroes exclusively attack peaceful protesters, cops and people they disagree politically, as opposed to criminals and madmen, that they aren't actually heroes. Did nobody in the board meeting bring up that if they want their characters to be the good guys that their bad guys should be more of a public menace? They've made a team of supervillians without realizing it.
@calemr
@calemr 4 жыл бұрын
@@calexander7495 right!? And yet, if that was the intention, it could make a fantastic story! Watching the rise of these violent but well meaning people, believing that those who disagree are evil, lashing out, until they become the iron fisted dictators of... A city? A country? Scale is up to the writer I guess... And then a revolution rises up to oppose them. Or end on a sadder note. They win, they truly believe they are utterly in the right, as everyone below them toils in a land with no free speech, thought police, horrific super-powered slaughters in the streets when people try to disagree... But people would probably prefer a "Common men and women rise up to overthrow their oppressors" ending. Shoot these terrorist dictators in the head.

This unironically reminds me of the 'classic' german/ russian villain stereotype who speaks like 3 times in the whole story and everything is either mispronounced (in a show) or misspelled/unfitting (in a book). Most commonly: Using formal form while insulting someone very informally. It's a little bit like you would insult someone by saying: "My dear sir, i am unfortunate to tell you that you are a retarded wanker."

@Etern4l in some ways basically worm takes the concept of a hero world in a grimm way basically like watchmens world where heros tend to let villians go even if there literally yatzis and asian supremasists because they know they need every meta they can get when the end bringers show up leading to a world over run with crime and heros with little real point despite the words and heroism and where non hero or villian metas are treated with intense distrust by law and society the story centers around taylor a bullied girl treated far worse then most bullied kids who has the worst luck possible and stumbles into the villian life after the trama of being locked in a locker of shite and decayed used femine products for a day unlocks her powers over bugs and shes rides that wave all the way threw going threw tons of messed up shite but saves the multiverse in the end by becoming a emotionless mass mind controlling tryant who then willingly lets herself be killed after said ulimate threat is dead its really grim dark this aint grim dark or compelling or even purpfusly centerd on a villian this is a antifa power fanstasy where a group of villians do what ever they want while seeing themselves as moral paragons

Honestly I could see a serious series about super power terrorists being interesting with the right thematics. I mean you would have to know what you're doing, have self awareness, not be up your own ass in regards to your own sensibilities, really challenge yourself and others in what you believe and the extent of how far you would do for your beliefs and how far would you go. Could Kwanzer and Waid do that? I think we all know the answer to that. The best thing out of this series is to hear you and Zack say "HUMANITY FIRST" like a old time radio host.

Take these exact same characters saying and doing the exact same things, write from the perspective of "these are the villains" (the correct perspective), and add a sane, reasonable protagonist to stand against them (maybe a cop who also secretly has powers), and the concept and setting might actually make for a good book. Shame the good art is wasted on the crap story and script.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I am usually very forgiving with things like showing Mexico as a little 18th century town, or using brown filters, or having year-long Día de Muertos, but somehow I always HATE when they spell Spanish wrong, as they do not really have to use Spanish to begin with. Or they can contact someone from the depicted country to give them the right words (yes, asking someone who has lived their entire life in New York and whose parents are from Puerto Rico is not the best option when showing Spanish spoken in Mexico, for instance). The best is to simply not use it.

I think Ignited does an excellent job of showing just how deluded the writers actually are. They're writing the story. They literally control all events that take place in it, and even when they have the characters they identify with do things like start fights and terrorize people, they are incapable of acknowledging that's what's happened.

It's not even that it's incompetent or technically fllawed. I'd understand that. The characters just seem to be made deliberately unappealing, as if appealing characters were bad...or the artist is taking the piss and that's why the evil gun nazis have minorities in them and never pose aggressively and the heroes look like (subtle) caricatures of villains, showing their true colours. I'd like it if the latter was true.
