Genuinely curious... Can you explain the joke behind the maternity bra? Like, is it suppose to be uncomfortable to have 'overalls' as bras?
@satan652
@satan652 17 күн бұрын
@@jimbolic0809 I am not 100% sure what your question is (it is most likely a me thing since it is 2:44 am right now but I can't seem to fall sleep) So I'm just going to say it is different for everyone but in my experience they are a lot more comfortable than normal bras. Or if that was not the right answer then, The reason she described maternity bras as overalls is because they have a little latch, most commonly by the shoulder strap, that unhooks the padding of the bra like a flap so you can feed your baby but not have to take off your whole bra. (I am not the best at describing things so I recommend going to Google and seeing a picture) I really hope that this helps and I apologize if not!
@jimbolic0809
@jimbolic0809 16 күн бұрын
@@satan652 Thank you for your response. I suppose the comedian's joke is that she enjoys the comfortable maternity bra despite not being pregnant, similar to how she enjoys the adult diaper versus a tampon, when adult diapers are designed for the elderly.

HAH! I understand, Irene! Some guys see my long hair from the back and think I might be a woman even though I’m 6’3. I used the restroom once at a restaurant and the sink was kinda low so I stooped down to wash my hands and a waiter came in, seemed embarrassed but said, awkwardly, ‘Uhm, excuse me, miss. This is the men’s room.’ I just turned around and smiled and said ‘Hmmm?’ innocently and stood up straight and he looked up at me and waved his hands and said, ‘OH! Sorry, sir!’ I chuckled and said, ‘no worries, bro!’ He wasn’t short but def shorter than me. He seemed relieved that I’m chill and used to that momentary mistake 😝

I'm short and female but dress in guy clothes because they're comfy and functional, and wear baseball hats. I always get called bro and little kids have even asked me "are you a boy or a girl" lol a comfy girl k? Kind of crazy people (including myself) grow up with such a need to know what kind of genitals someone has, but maybe the most objective reason I've come up with is simply language, to use "he" or "she." I like just skipping the ask part and assuming, "they," it's so freeing at present. I feel like it removes me from others' underpants lol righteous!

My husband had similar experiences on occasion when his hair was long. It was thick and blond and usually longer than mine, so we'd be at a restaurant and a waiter would say, "Good afternoon, ladies! How are we doing today?" Husband turns around and with the deepest register of his voice says, "Ladies?" The 😱 look on the waiter's face was always entertaining, haha! From any other angle he's quite male-presenting, but when all you can see is a head of long, thick, honey blond colored hair, it's an easy enough error to make.

Nursing bras sound like a convenient way for all bras to be tbh, probably the idea of a woman. All these backwards fasteners, zippers and clasps are probably due to male designers whose experience of women's clothing is helping do it up from the back therefore that probably makes the most sense to them cause patriarchy and the idea that women's clothing isn't about the convenience, comfort and utility of the wearer. Does ANY men's clothing do up at the back?

Nah they're just made like their predecessor: the corset. And it's not a huge deal... except nursing bras and other bras are made to be accessible... For the disabled women and those who need extra help. Women who need these functions normally aren't disabled or are in need of help. Or women could admit these functions are actually just more helpful overall instead of "GRRR I'M NOT DISABLED!" like the rest of humanity. It has nothing to do with men. It has everything to do with the idea of being "weak" which even women perpetuate toxic ideas of... HI! Disabled woman! I buy nursing bras and bras designed for post surgical treatments... which also open in the front. It's due to severe pain that I can only wear bras without wiring (another horrible invention that women enjoy because "they want to feel secure") and sports bras which women also like... which just get stuck and are painful to take off. All designs of bras that are not made for "medical" functions are generally just evil as hell. And sorry ladies, you did create this hell in which I live in. Men and women conspire against the rest of us. It's your fault. You did this with the men and we have to pay for it. If you wanna help the rest of us and admit you were wrong, we'll be happy to welcome you back to this lovely thing called intersectional feminism... But until then, you did actually make this bed to sleep in... Thus, lie in it.
