Few weeks ago I was in the türkisch shop with my son to buy some halal meat. I observed something disturbing. They had a new worker. He was a young black man, maybe 18 years old. He was comandet around and treated so respectless from the türkisch workers there. My blood was boiling, when I saw that. I was angry at those türkisch workers. I thought, how dare you to treat any human like that. I felt so sorry for this young man. I didn't know what to say to this ppl, but I had the urge to do something. So I went to this young man and said, excuse me, what's your name, young man. He looked frightened and thought a little, before he said, his name is John. I smiled to him and said, that he is doing a great job. I thanked him and wished him a nice day. He was surprised. I wanted go, but then I turned again to him and said, I will make Dua for you brother John. Hes face lighted up and he thanked me. I made Dua for him and I hope so much that ppl don't mistreat black ppl. I was more upset about that, because they were Muslims, who should know better. My mother is has German ancestors and she is a racist and I listened many racist statements in home. But I always rebelled against this sentiment. It triggers me really when I see racism on display. As German Muslim I myself was too target of racism. I was told to go home, told to wear German appropriate clothing and other suttel discrimination. But anyway we Muslims should know better and not discriminate.

Let it be known to all: Through the Holy Spirit, God has put it on me to preach to those lost in the devil's deceit! I tell ye, truly, Jesus of Nazareth is the propitiation for the whole world's sins. He is the anointed one, for he is, Jesus Christ. God the Father has raised him from the dead; who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God! Angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life: no one comes to the Father, but by him. They who believe and are baptized with the Holy Spirit shall be saved; but they who believe not shall be damned. For they who believe not on him, shall die in their sins! I tell ye now to repent of your sins, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, and you'll receive the gift of the Holy Spirit upon asking the Father! There are *NO* sub-divisions of Christianity. You're either a disciple of Christ or not. A Christian is someone who follows God's word, not a religion. Who obey the Father and follow his will; not man's nor their own heart's. Unless you keep Jesus' commandments, think not the Holy Spirit will dwell within you! They who heed this message and did what was stated with an open heart to God... Read the Holy Bible (KJV) daily and every time before you read, pray to the Father and ask: "Lord I ask that you give me understanding of your word, that I interpret it the way you want me to, and none of my own. I ask you in Jesus' name, amen." 1 John 2:2 KJV 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Acts 13:26-33 KJV 26 Men and brethren, children of the stock of Abraham, *and whosoever among you feareth God, to you is the word of this salvation sent.* 27 *For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.* 28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain. 29 *And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre.* 30 *But God raised him from the dead:* 31 And he was seen many days of them which came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses unto the people. 32 *And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,* 33 God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 1 Peter 3:22 KJV 22 Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. John 14:6 KJV 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Mark 16:16 KJV 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. John 8:24 KJV 24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins. Acts 2:38 KJV 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Luke 11:13 KJV 13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? John 14:21-24 KJV 21 *He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.* 22 Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23 Jesus answered and said unto him, *If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.* 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and *the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.*

@@Call_Upon_YAH If we want to read the Bible, we just take it from our shelves and read it. One question to the Christian preachers. Just want to know, because it annoys me so much. I would like to know, why you Christian preachers preach in such penetrant way. What's your goal actually? And why did you choose this way to convey your message? Do you have other ways and did you consider them?

As an African American of the diaspora, I’ve heard this Hadith during a khutbah from an African American imam. He worded it like this, the prophet (s.a.w.) said, obey your leader even if he’s an Ethiopian slave with hair like raisins. None of us were offended or even bothered in any way at all about the Hadith. When I was a small boy my oldest sister used to call me a peasy head rascal. My brother would say my head looks like a parking lot!!! Basically what I’m saying is Allah (s.w.t.) and His messenger are not racist. How could He be when we know Him as The Just!!! My sister was not being racist when she said that to me. And my brother was right, when I didn’t comb my hair it would roll up and become a lot with parked cars! I wasn’t offended then and I’m not now. I think the problem is, people lack understanding.

I've seen many black Muslim scholars and black Sufi spiritual masters whose radiant faces were enlighted by their saintly character and soul, no matter how dark their skin color is. While I've also met many light skinned Arabs whose faces were darkened by their evil character and impureness in their soul. I say this as a Hejazi Arab from Makkah region. True beauty and value is in actions and character not in skin color!

Inasmuch as I disagree with Dr. Brown on alot of issues, I'd have to admit, his work on slavery and blackness is very nice. And I'd say those works are purely academic with alot of references and citations, hence giving you as a reader the freedom to make up your mind. An important distinction in his books is stressing the importance of how Islam is different from Muslims, Islam is perfect, Muslims are not.

Outstanding discussion. The subconscious pressure to whiten and lighten dark skin in the Muslim world and non-muslim parts of Africa is pervasive. This trend is a direct correlation to constantly reinforced negative images and perceptions about dark and black skin. The only way to reverse this trend is to consciously address it in discussions like this one and to accept the diversity of the human family as living proof of the power of Allah (swt). The concept of racism is an attribute of Iblis who was rejected for his own racist arrogance.

@@atiphwyne5609 Shaving the beard is haram because of the sahih ahadith that clearly state this, and because of the general application of texts that forbid resembling the unbelievers. Ibn ‘Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Be different from the polytheists; let your beards grow and trim your moustaches.” According to another report: “Trim your moustaches and let your beards grow .” There are other hadith which convey the same meaning, which is to leave the beard as it is and let it grow long, without shaving, plucking or cutting any part of it. Ibn Hazm reported that there was scholarly consensus that it is an obligation to trim the moustache and let the beard grow . He quoted a number of ahadith as evidence, including the hadith of Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted above, and the hadith of Zayd ibn Arqam in which the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Whoever does not remove any of his moustache is not one of us.” (Classed as sahih by al-Tirmidhi). Ibn Hazm said in al-Furu’: “This formula according to our colleagues [i.e., the Hanbalis] means that it is haram to shave the beard .” Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “The Quran, Sunnah and ijma’ (scholarly consensus) all indicate that we must differ from the unbelievers in all aspects and not imitate them, because imitating them on the outside will make us imitate them in their bad deeds and habits, and even in beliefs, which will result in befriending them in our hearts, just as loving them in our hearts will lead to imitating them on the outside. Al-Tirmidhi reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “He is not one of us who imitates people other than us. Do not imitate the Jews and Christians.” According to another version: “Whoever imitates a people is one of them. ” (Reported by al-Imam Ahmad) ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab rejected the testimony of the person who plucked his beard. Al-Imam Ibn ‘Abd al-Barr said in al-Tamhid: “It is forbidden to shave the beard, and no one does this except men who are effeminate” i.e., those who imitate women. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had a thick beard (reported by Muslim from Jabir). It is not permitted to remove any part of the beard because of the general meaning of the texts which forbid doing so.” Also, shaving the beard is a public sin everyone will see your face and look at it, Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Everyone from my nation will be forgiven except those who sin in public. Salaam Aleikum Brother Paul I feel terribly sorry for you and your host when both of you started to insinuate that there are no Black people who are actually black in colour. Well brother Paul I must say that is not only a very ignorant statement it's also a bit of bigotry going on here. Brother Paul bcuz you so called "white" people are not actually white both of you ignorantly and with a pinch of arrogance want to wrongly insinuate that we Black people are not in fact Black and Brown skinned human beings. Your guest might be a scholar but he is just as ignorant as any bloke on the street when it comes to this matter. Brother Paul in all the lands of Africa we have Africans who are ( am sure you have never heard of this phrase before) ebony black. In the South of Sudan we have lots of Black Africans who are Midnight Black and like the Qur'an will confirm in sura 15-26 AND WE DID CERTAINLY CREATE MAN OUT OF CLAY FROM AN ALTERED BLACK MUD. This verse actually confirms something brother Paul and that something is if white people were the first humans, there won't be a Black or Brown skinned human beings around today. And the reason for that is white people are genetically deficient of the chemical that makes the black colour of our skin. In other words a melanin deficient white couple cannot or are genetically incapable of having a Black/Brown baby, you see. That's why when Allah said we all came from One Male and One Female couple everything becomes very clear indeed. You see, we Black and Brown people of Africa have this genetic ability to give birth to a perfectly healthy albino baby with blond hair and blue eyes, you see. And this albino baby of ours can perfectly pass as a white baby boy/girl in any European country. So the fact is even you guys are perpetrating the same racist bigotry y'all have learned since you were kids. So brother Paul the fact is some of us Black people are as black as midnight or as black as the ebony tree. You guys are not white bcuz actually the term white was conceived in the 19th century in the USA of ofcuz. THE BIRTH OF A WHITE NATION BY JACQUELINE BRATOLLA on KZbin or you can buy the book. There's another thing I want everyone to get in their skull we Africans started the religion of monotheism. The so called middle-east is in fact North-East Africa and Israel aka CANAAN was founded by a Black African man plus it's still on the African tectonic plate which makes it part of Africa. Saudi Arabia used to be part of the African continent as well till the separation of the tectonic plates some 30,000 years ago to create what we call today as the Arabian tectonic plate. We Africans know who we are( the ones who know our true history). We started all this bcuz we were here when the beginning began. Lots of people don't know that only 8,000 years all the Europeans alive were dark skinned. And all so called white people alive today have a darker skin underneath all this "whiteness"they think they have but in reality they are no different from any albino. Here is 2 videos to further explain my point: THE EVOLUTION OF SKIN COLOUR BY DR. NINA JABLONSKI. (2) THE FEW THINGS MOST PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT WHITE PEOPLE BY GOBLACKTOAFRICA both on KZbin. We are the fathers and mothers of y'all so if you hate on us you are actually hating on yourselves. AMOS 9-7. May Allah increase us all in knowledge and understanding and may Allah continue to bless Africa and Africans always. Salaam Aleikum 🙏🏿 PS: THE SIN OF RACISM WAS COMMITTED SUBHANNALLA IN FRONT OF ALLAH (SWT) HIMSELF. IT'S THE OLDEST SIN IN THE UNIVERS AND WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN IT'S TARGET.

Hey and another thing about the Indians and Blackness: ANY WHERE YOU COME FROM AS LONG AS YOU ARE A BLACK MAN YOU ARE AN AFRICAN. This is bcuz we Africans were the first humans to explore the planet we call Earth.. So anywhere you find a Black person on this planet they originated originally from Africa no doubt about that. This is something you guys cannot rap your heads around bcuz of your inbred racism. We populated the world that's why there is no human being alive today who doesn't have the mark of the African skin deep. There's is in fact anti Blackness in all the so called Abrahamic religions even though Abraham was an African man who lived on the continent of Africa which we call today moronically the middle-east. This are the facts everyone is trying very hard to hide. May Allah increase us all in knowledge and understanding.

It was the famous Spanish author *_Miguel de Cervantes_* best known for his novel "Don Quixote," who was captured by pirates. In 1575, Cervantes was traveling from Italy to Spain on board the ship El Sol when it was attacked by Ottoman _pirates._ He and his brother Rodrigo were captured and taken to Algiers, where they were held as _slaves_ for five years. During his captivity, Cervantes attempted to escape several times but was always recaptured. Cervantes was eventually _ransomed_ in 1580, and he returned to Spain.

There is racism everywhere! The Islamic world is no exception. If you think there is any hint of racism in the scripture, i.e. the Qur'an, then you've most certainly misunderstood or misinterpreted it. If you think there is racism in the hadith, then congratulations, you've only found racism in the opinions of some men.

Hadeeth which says Ethiopian or raisin head has an anti-racist message behind it. Prophet (SAW) is indicating that a leader cannot be disobeyed just because of their race, social hierarchy or looks. In 23 years of his mission, racism was countered to great extent. It is not easy to rewire social order in such a short period, especially in tribal society. Especially when Muslim gained social power during the last 13 years.

As Dave Chapelle once said "if you're an American, then you're racist". And to modify this quote slightly, "if you're an American then you're racial". And the reason is because America is a racial state. A state founded mainly on race unlike Europe where states are based on nation. America is like Europe but without the nations. It is a continent sized country where all European nationalisms and nationalities come to an end.

@41:50 Professor Brown said that most scholars in the early Islamic period would class Arabs as black as opposed to red, but @42:54 he says pre-Islamic Arabs in 200-300 AD depicted themselves in paintings not far from Mecca as red as opposed to black. How do we reconcile these two statements? Is it that the latter was just a less common view within the bipartite schema?

The West is not worshipping black people and many people have bought into the negative stereotypes about black people! The West has demonized black people. Black people are seen negatively all around the world because of the West. We face Racism no matter where we go because of the white Europeans! They are the ones who set the beauty standards and said white people are superior and taught their kids this and made sure all black people understood that they were inferior. Allah says all that matters is the deeds we are only better than another person based on piety. Skin color means nothing to Allah. But Racism has influenced humans in general everywhere in the world. The shaitan is very crafty racism was used to oppress black people. Racism is based off of three components systemic oppression, institutionalized power, and prejudice. Yes, racism does exist in the Muslim community however it would be unfair to compare it with European/American racism because that is a class of its own. Racism in the Muslim Ummah, historically and contemporaneously speaking, exists as a human weakness or like an inner demon. However, Islam puts that genie in the bottle, so to speak, and strongly discourages anyone from opening the lid. Not only through its theoretical teachings but also through practical application like five daily prayers, Hajj (the Great Annual Pilgrimage to Mecca), fasting in the holy month of Ramadan and Zakath (obligatory charity) which is usually paid in the month of Ramadan in order to earn more blessings and rewards with God, Islam manages this human weakness which Satan always exploits it to destroy humankind. When the prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Arrange the rows in order, stand shoulder to shoulder, close the gaps, be accommodating to your brothers, and do not leave gaps for Satan". And when he said: "Stand close together in your rows, keep nearer to one another, and put your necks in line, for by Him in Whose Hands my soul is, I see the Satan entering through the opening in the row like Al-hadhaf (i.e., a type of small black sheep found in Yemen).'' (Both of the hadiths mentioned in Abu Dawood). What he means is that these gaps, these separations between brothers-in-faith allow Satan to sow seeds of discord like racism, nationalism, tribalism etc.

@maaziy_ghaziyIYI
@maaziy_ghaziyIYI Жыл бұрын
@@Lavish1717 Yes, you're right, however, it doesn't stop race-mixing either. If a man and a woman mutually like another and intend to get married although each belonging to different race, then Islam doesn't forbid or stop them from doing so. Race is a secondary thing in Islam. It's mainly for identification purposes. Other than that, Islam places no importance on race, ethnicity and/or nationality. The Prophet (peace be upon him) himself married Maria al-Qibtiyyah who was a Coptic Egyptian (aka not an Arab). He also married Ṣafīyyah bint Ḥuyayy who was ethnically Jewish (aka not Arab). And prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) himself had a wife named Haajar (aka Hagar) who was an Egyptian woman i.e. not an Arab. The point is race is never an important thing in Islam. To Allah, all races are equal as He's the Creator and Lord of all human races. In a hadith, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Allah does not look at your faces and you wealth but He looks at your hearts and your actions.

Interesting speech by Dr. Brown. We should note that Islam and blackness are NOT mutually exclusive. There are millions of black Muslims in the world. Islam means Submission ONLY to God(Allah) without associating partners with Him in worship(e.g. Trinity) or worshipping other deities-Zeus, Apollo, Jupiter, Baal, Hanuman, Lat, Uzza, Manaat etc. The first Muslims were Adam(pbuh) and Eve(Gbph). Jesus(pbuh) is a Muslim, Moses(pbuh) is a Muslim, Abraham(pbuh) and all prophets and messengers of God(Allah) are Muslims. As such, it's kind of confusing to compare Islam and blackness. It's more appropriate to compare Arabs and blackness or Arab attitudes towards blacks. Islam came to eradicate these ailments and NOT to promote it. White folks racism towards blacks has been more intense than Arab Muslim racism. The latter is at least restrained by the demands of the faith and back-off fast except for those who are not religiously observant. But as humans both whites, Arabs and others of pale colours are mesmerized by the black colour which they wrongly consider bad omen or unattractive. They should ask God(Allah) why He Created black folks. White folks even changed Biblical texts to read that God(Allah) created black folks to be their slaves after they laughed at their naked father. Slavery in Africa was not started by Africans who sold their own people as wrongly portrayed by the West. It was a matter of demand and supply. The New World had high demand for labour. As usual, those in business found a new product- African slaves. If we observe carefully, the people in business today are the same ones who traded in slavery. Whites, Arabs, Jews(by faith) and Indians. Only few blacks are in business. For capitalization of letters, the Only letter we need to capitalize is the letter G for God(Allah) so that we can correctly translate the Shahada or Declaration of faith La ilaha ila Allah as No god but God.

@@he11near No sir, Bilal father was an Arab, not black. Jabir (Allah be pleased with him) reported: There came a slave and pledg- ed allegiance to Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) on migration; he (the Holy Prophet) did not know that he was a slave. Then there came his master and demanded him back, whereupon Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) said: Sell him to me. And he (The Prophet) bought him (The Slave) for two Black Slaves, and he did not afterwards take allegiance from anyone until he had asked him whether he was a slave (or a free man) Sahih Muslim 10:3901 ☹️

@@lahleholivia7398 Bilal is black. He was African. And as much as you are disappointed about that, it was normalised back then, however that doesn't imply that the religion itself promotes it. "O people, your Lord is one and your father Adam is one. There is no favor of an Arab over a foreigner, nor a foreigner over an Arab, and neither white skin over black skin, nor black skin over white skin, except by righteousness. Have I not delivered the message?" -Musnad Aḥmad 22978 It will be disturbing everywhere but that's history.

@@he11near No sir his father was an Arab his mother from Ethiopia. Abu bakr bought him using a black Slave from the prophet Very sad for black Slave. And prophet used his 2 black Slaves for one Arab slave like Bilal. And on the day of resurrection you shall see those who lied against Allah; their faces shall be blackened. Is there not in hell an abode for the proud? Qur'an 39:60. Why do they have to be black. Why not red or purple. This very racist and disappointing.

The ORIGINAL ARABS TOOK PRIDE IN THEIR BLACKNESS!!! You insulted (the family of the Prophet) because of their blackness (bi-l-sawad), while there are still deep black, pure-blooded Arabs. However, you are white - the Romans (Byzantines) have embellished your faces with their color. The color of the family of Hashim was not a bodily defect (aha).[From poem of Abu al-Hasan Ali b. al-Abbas b. Jurayj (Ibn al-Rumi) (d. 896), apud Abu al-Faraj al-Isbahani, Maqatil al-tãalibiyyin, 759] (Williams, 2009, p. 32).

The first thing I thought when as saw this duo is why is this debate about blackness so white. Then I listened, didn't learn anything new and my question was still valid. This might as well be a debate between two trustfund babies talking about poverty and every other sentence is about how they have never known poverty.
