Amazing job, Jackie! Just two things that crossed my mind while watching this... for folks who are watching this, it's important to know that eating a big heavy meal immediately after a prolonged fast can actually be really dangerous. Like, can kill you dangerous. The longer the fast, the more important it is to properly come off it- liquids, fruits & veggies. Also, as a mom, I have been guilty of drinking way too much coffee and taking in wayyy too much caffeine, which, my mom lovingly pointed out to me. 🤣 I just noticed you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages and was wondering if that could have caused your racing heart. That definitely happens to me if I have too much, especially on an empty stomach. It's just the mom in me that wanted to bring those two things up! But congrats on making it through your 100 hours and thanks for sharing your adorable family with us! 💗

Oh! Also, prolonged fasting often causes headaches, usually around the 3 day point. My understanding is the body begins detoxing more at that point and causes the headaches. I made the mistake of fasting during my period recently. I get headaches on my period already. It was TORTURE.

I avoid coffee during my prolonged fasting. No headache. But I did stop drinking coffee cause I was getting bad reactions and after 4 months I don’t miss it!

Racing heart is inadvertently connected to the caffeine- it’s from potassium depletion due to caffeine’s diuretic effects. I definitely limit caffeine on fasts and the reason people take salt is to limit potassium loss as well.

Heart racing, painful headache, nausea, dizziness, cramps, … are often caused by too little sodium in the body ^^ Just an info for anyone maybe trying out prolonged fasting soon.

I've been IF for about 3 yrs. When I try to cut back on my sugar, then I eat sugar like last night when I had an ice cream come during my eating window, I have really bad cramps, like last night at midnight and again at 2. They were the worst ever. Makes eating that delicious ice cream cone totally not worth it. And I drink electrolyte water all day.

I’m learning how to have a healthy relationship with food, really starting to slowly understand. I can’t ever properly explain how much your example has helped me with this. The simple and honest way you share what you do that works for you, please keep sharing exactly this with us! It is life changing. What was your appetite like in the days after your 100 hour fast? Was your appetite controlled? Did it trigger any diet brain thinking? Did you find yourself feeling you needed to overeat in the days that followed your long fast? Would love to learn from your experience! Thank you 😊.

Hi Jackie! Congrats on your first 100 hr fast!! I started my intermittent fasting journey almost a year ago now when I came across your channel! It’s been a life changer for me and I feel great when doing IF. I typically do 20 hour fasts daily with the occasional 40-48 hr fast once every 2-3 weeks. I did one 59 hour fast back in may and yesterday I just completed my first 72 hour fast. This video helped give me that little extra push of motivation to reach my goal of 72 hours😊! I feel great. I did also use LMNT while fasting along with one tbsp of MCT oil daily along with my vitamins. Thank you for keeping us motivated while we each go through our own IF journeys!🥰

Thank you for posting this as an inspiration to work toward! I’ve been clean fasting since late May & have gradually worked up to 20+ hours every day & many days I easily fast 23 hours with no issues. I am down from 163lb to 146lb today which is a little over a pound a week. At first I dropped to the mid 150s and then lingered there for a long time. The past few weeks, I’ve dropped more quickly. I’m a 6th grade teacher and just completed my first 2 weeks of students. I’ve had lots of energy & mental focus and have had deep sleep. So jazzed about IF as a lifestyle & looking forward to working gradually toward 36/48/60/72 and eventually maybe a 100 hour fast like you, Jackie! 💝

I wasn't going for 100, per se, since my primary goal is to *heal my gut and solve my histamine intolerance* issue. Since starting OMAD (75% of the time), 2MAD (25%), and having done 3 3-4 day fasts (that I didn't count in the percentages of OMAD and 2MAD), I've lost 16 lbs. I'm 51, female, 5'2", 114 lbs. I better solve my problem fast...no pun intended, LOL.

I did a 7 day fast ( 168 hrs ) a few years back. I lost 15 lbs. My first meal was out to lunch with my daughter. I could only eat 1/3 of what I normally ate. I didn’t know much about electrolytes back then which would have totally made a difference. Only drank water. I know after a while of not eating your body goes into autophagy and starts cleaning out your system from junk and old or dead cells. Probably why the headache. I look forward to next time with the electrolytes and unflavored teas, etc. Great accomplishment for you!! Thanks for all the great tips!!

Dear Jackie, I am on permanent adf. Or to be precise, one long meal every 40-44 hours. Take approximately 4-5 hours to finish this long meal. My meal is only steamed vegetable, plain Greek yogurt, steamed white egg, plain tofu, and sometime air fry salmon sockeye, frozen raspberry, plain cacao powder. No candies, no cakes, no sweet, no other food. Sometimes vietnamese plain baguette, white rice, and brown rice porridge. I am trying permanent 2 days no food so basically fasting 60-72 hours. I don't feel hungry. BUT I FEEL NO ENERGY. CANNOT LIGHT WEIGHT LIFT, CANNOT RUN ELLIPTICAL, CANNOT CYCLE. LOOK LIKE I RUN OUT OF GLYCOGEN. I THOUGHT I COULD RELY ON FAT FOR ENERGY. I need some advice from you on 72 hour fasting. I am on permanent alternate day fasting minimum 36 hours to maximun 48 hours. That is my fact of life due to my health issues (IBS-C). However, I discover that in order to get maximum relief of suffering from my ibs-c, I should fast permanently min 60 hours to max 72 hours. But I always fail to achieve this goal. I did reach a couple of times 60 hours and over. My primary obstacles are hunger pangs when I am on exercise like 35 minutes schwinn elliptical resistance level 80% max or bike rides (10-15 miles) to work. I drink water immediately once hunger pangs occur. It does help. Eventually, I run out of my water limit 90 oz daily. Hung pangs occur after I reach my water limit 90 oz. I don't know how to deal with hunger pangs after that. Without exercise, it seems that I should be able the goal 60-72 hour permanent fasting. Any advices should be helpful. Thanks. Without exercise look like i can do permanent 60-72 hours fasting relatively easy. So using fat as energy does not seem to work.

Sadly, the free sample pack doesn't seem to work. I clicked on your link, and tried to order a regular box along with the sample pack and it wants to charge me for the sample pack. I tried 4 times...

How do you deal with the fasting breath? 😅

Dr. Sten Ekberg explains why you had trouble with the dunes; during a long fast when you get out of breath you've moved into anaerobic exercise (only aerobic is advised) and he explains why that's a no-no during long fasts. AND, women _should only_ do long fasting starting Day 1 of their periods because of the estrogen/progesterone cycle.

Your doing great. I love your hair when it's pulled down on side of your face straight looking, instead of going back. You look younger. No offense. But of course you do you. I still love your video I learn a lot thanks for what you do. Proud of your 100 fasting. Good 👍👍👍👍

What tracking app are you using? I can’t find anything that lets you pick your own hours for fasting.

I made it to 100 hours. Like you, I was freezing cold the whole time. I had intense leg cramps that kept me awake. Next time, I’m going to use LMNT. Thanks for your channel, this video, and the promotional link for LMNT!
