@@missanonymus585 Yes, HIV is the virus which can be treated and isn't the deathsentence it used to be. However: if it remains untreated for whatever reason then the HIV virus can and will turn into the disease known as AIDS and that actually is an extremely dangerous disease that leads to death. It shuts down your immune system. So while usually it isn't the AIDS that kills you, it's a disease or affliction you get because of AIDS that is the cause of death. This guy's taking a stand for an important health issue, and it's great that that health issue doesn't affect your life, but people, other than you, lead their own lives. Separate from you. Lina Leeann it’s hard to say what bothers me the most, but it all boils down to money. Medicaid, Medicare, as well as private insurance companies try SO HARD to find a way not to pay for services, medications, etc. We had a meeting last week regarding how a new charting system is being implemented, and if we don’t chart EXACTLY how Medicaid, Medicare wants it, they will deny payment and the financial burden will fall back on the patient. People go absolutely bankrupt because of medical events, and healthcare is a RIGHT, not a privilege.

@@tassymccormick with Medicare the cost does not usually fall on the patient because you have to have a certain form to bill the patient. The cost usually falls on the institution, the hospital, the clinics etc. That is why the er charges 50 bucks for a bandaid because if they actually do jump through all the hoops correctly and get reimbursed they make about 25 cents off that bandaid. If Medicare for all became a reality many large companies would not accept Medicare because the reimbursement is so low and it's not guaranteed, many small clinics would fail and close. Private insurance isn't the problem it's what Medicare is allowed to get away with that is the problem. The things they demand and expect for their nothing reimbursement that is the problem, Medicare must be reassessed first and should not be allowed to demand the extremes they demand. I work in healthcare as an auditor and I see their crap reimbursement every day.

I think he said he wished he did enjoy it but that he doesn't and it's basically just a paycheck for him. I wonder if he was just having a bad day or if he really meant that he was faking every episode. Sometimes you can tell he's being fake but a lot of the time he seems genuine, so it's weird to imagine that he wouldn't enjoy doing his job at all.

yes :( And they KNOW that people NEED it... how evil must one be to make money in such a way?! Well... the same people, who stored food, when society was lacking food to jack up the prices... or who fought to keep slavery etc... some people just can't see anything else but cold profit.... probably to fill some hole inside of them... and everyone of them is weirdly surprised, when they find out you can't push money into a void, that needs warmth and connection... :/

The companies are not to blame here, they put in a lot of time and money into developing those meds. In all the Europien countries and other western countries the medication and treatments are FREE no money. Because we all have to have health insurance by law! The US system is flawed. And that's your government's fault, not the med. companies. The reserach and development teams there save our lives daily.

3500 dollars? American Healthcare is outlandish
@glittermafia5759
@glittermafia5759 4 жыл бұрын
@Togapower that is a misleading statistic. 90% of Americans pay for healthcare but the majority still can't afford to go due to expensive copays and outlandish deductibles. If you pay for healthcare 100% of all of your needs should be covered and that is not the case. I pay $800 a month for healthcare and still have a $ 5000 deductible if something terrible should happen. All medications,all procedures and all illnesses should be covered without the fear of going bankrupt.

As with any medication it varies from person to person. The majority of people have no problems after the first month, but some will have minor side effects. A small minority can have a strain that's drug resistant and they have to use 2nd or 3rd line drugs i.e. the ones that aren't first choice because they have more side effects or need to be taken in larger doses that are more intrusive to your lifestyle. But as I said 90 odd percent, like with this guy, take one tablet a day and have no problems.
