OMG, Chels, when you paused just before the chorus and said "This is a lot calmer than I expected it to be", I cracked up laughing! 🤣 I was also completely shocked when I first heard Tatiana's scream/growl vocals, mostly because I didn't realize a woman could do that in such a low register (especially a tiny woman with a beautiful mellow singing voice). Just to let you know, I have sent my marriage proposal to Tatiana, but I haven't received a response. 😁😆
@stevekallio67834 жыл бұрын
Nice reaction guys, welcome to the world of Jinjer. They are from Ukraine, their names are Tatiana (vocals), Eugene (bass), Roman (guitar), and Vlad (drums). I agree, Tati is the best female metal vocalist right now, their are many talented female metal/growler singers out there, but for me, Tati is the best. The guys get "overlooked" sometimes because of Tatiana's insane vocals, but make no mistake, they are all phenomenal musicians. If you guys choose to react to more Jinjer, I would suggest reacting to Perennial, live at Wacken open Air 2019. It's an actual "live" performance. Pisces is a "live session" which basically means they recorded it "live" together as a band, but it has some post production mixes in it, Perennial is an actual "live" performance and it is fantastic. Anyhow guys, keep up the great reactions. Peace and of course, stay Metal. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🎶🎶🎶🎶

Well well well .......... welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole!!! This whole band is amazing!! Once the shock of her voice wears off you’ll really start to see how great and technical the whole band is. Most either go to “teacher teacher” next or if you want to hear live “who’s going to be the one” or “perennial” live at wakken. But there’s so much more. You will be addicted!!! Lol!!

@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
Fun reaction - cracked me up, subbed! :) I've seen them twice in concert and they are epic. This is kinda tied with I Speak Astronomy for second or third lightest song in their repertoire, and Tatiana goes even lower in other songs and concert performances of Pisces. Whoever put the video together did a great job making it look like some random basement. But if you look at the lights and how they create interesting highlights and shadows, how the black and white costuming and Tatiana's tall boots subtly echo the Star Wars poster in the background, someone put a lot of thought into what they were making here. Jinjer is a band that you'll be missing out if you don't watch concert videos. They are extremely experienced on stage. There are just a handful of studio videos I'd recommend over their concert videos. This one is actually only live-ish with a lot of editing. I'd suggest a concert video next. Perennial live at Wacken is a bit heavier but utterly beautiful. Who Is Gonna Be The One official live is a classic performance of a banging protest song and shows how low Tati can go. Both have awesome musicianship from the rest of the band too, and great lyrics. Cheers!

"Perennial live at Wacken" for the best mix. 'Who is Gonna Be the One", live for more growls and a heavier sound. "Teacher, Teacher" for the best overall example of talent for the whole band. "Retrospection" to hear a bit (the first verse) of Tatiana singing in her native tongue. All, and many others I've not mentioned are great songs.
@gabrielstratton17754 жыл бұрын
Her transitions only get better as you dig deeper. "Teacher teacher" and "retrospection" have some of my favorite fast transitions. I can understand the B. Spears reference as her cleans in this song are very pop. But, she sings on many different clean styles including rap, raggae and jazz. She also growls in multiple styles. Tatiana is one of the best female metal vocalists and lyricists in the industry. She uses thematic imagery. This song, for example, uses fish and fishing metaphors to describe herself as a pisces(asteological fish sign) and was co-written by Tatiana and Eugene(bass player) who are both pisces
@joycegrabert27434 жыл бұрын

Fantastic reaction!!!! Tatiana has literally spoiled me for female metal vocalists, and she honestly smokes more than 90% of the male vocalists on her growls. This band is the best that I have heard since Tool. As a vocalist, she straight up buries the rest. She's the best I've ever heard. As for Pisces, it is not their best song by a very long shot. The band itself has probably a half a dozen other styles that I'm sure you guys will love. Her voice goes deeper and gets more beautiful as well. You should check out perennial live at wacken. Her stage presence in that video is unbelievable, and in that video she reminds me of the vocalist of Heart. From there, there are tons of different directions to go with this band. They single-handedly got me back into metal after several years out of it.

Great reaction. You guys have just dipped your toe into the Jinjer ocean. I have never heard a song of theirs I disliked, and this isn't even one of my top 10 songs of theirs. Tatiana is a vocal goddess, but every member of the band is near the top when it comes to best metal bassist/drummer/guitarist. In fact, I'd say Vlad and Eugene are the best drummer and bassist in metal currently. Roman is just as amazing, but he rarely gets a chance to shine given he's the only guitarist in the band.
@j.f.fisher53184 жыл бұрын
I feel like as good as his technical skills are, where Roman really shines is his ability to come up with a seemingly endless variety of riffs so diverse they can pack enough riffs for several songs into every piece, and that musical diversity forms the springboard for Tati to work from vocally. While they are locked down, Tati, Eugene, and Vlad have been posting pics on social media of the stuff (and people haha) that they are doing. Roman, not so much. What's he doing? Writing riffs for their next album.

@HelloXrancidkitteh4 жыл бұрын
they're SUCH an awesome metal band. go ahead and go down the rabbit hole of songs from this band and you wont be disappointed. I suggest either 'Outlander' or 'Perennial'. there are awesome live too. (though 'Outlander's music video is of a live performance, the only live audio is at the beginning guitar riff at the start of the song and it goes into the studio version. ) but if you wanna see live, there's an HD videos of 'Who Is Gonna Be The One' and 'Teacher, Teacher'. Also, I think you got the Britney Spears thing from, not her voice, technically, but more on the fact of how she pronounced some of her words in her singing that was pop inspired. like singing the sound "ay" instead of "ee" at the end of some words. Britney Spears and a few other pop singers do that too.

I believe what the lovely lady was referring to is the depth and huskiness that Ms. Spears does indeed show in many of her songs. She's not a typical soprano pop gum star. She does have a huskiness to her that you can find paralells to here. Tatiania is a million miles ahead of her as a vocalist but I understood what she meant for sure.

In your defense Chels when u said Tatiana had some similarities to Britney I also could hear it in some of the notes/tones at that part of the video. I might as well give you the rundown of EVERY song you're going to get requests for until they're gone: Perennial (Live @ Waken (it's a German outdoor open air festival and it's pronounced Vah-ken)) Who Is Going to Be the One (Live) I Speak Astronomy (Official Music Video) Teacher, Teacher (Official Music Video) Judgement (& Punishment) (Official Music Video) Then there's of course some of my personal recommendations (in no particular order): Retrospection (Official Music Video) Just Another (Official Music Video) Sit, Stay, Roll Over (Official Music Video) - this is if you want the relentless, full bore, Jinjer sound with very little breaks No Hoard of Value (Official Lyric Video) - Same caveat as above Bad Water (Official Music Video) - If you want to see Tatiana just sing clean with no growls That should get you started. I highly recommend the entire "Cloud Factory" album, personally. There's absolutely NOTHING bad off that album whatsoever!
