My nephew recently had a birthday. Like always, I offered to bake him a cake of his choice. His norm is the Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake which I’ve baked countless times, but today he asked for a red velvet cake. I’ve never made one in my life, but today I did. I followed your instructions step by step and wow, I’ve now baked my first red velvet cake and I hope my nephew loves it. Thank you Stephanie for all your help.

Stephanie, I woke up today and as I was preparing to leave for work I watched your video on my phone, the 1M subs video, and you have no idea how happy I am for you, I absolutely ADORE you and your channel, you make me smile when I watch you bake, I LOVE baking too ❣️ To be honest I think it took too long for you to hit 1M, your work is FANTASTIC, you care for ALL the details (which I also obsess over) and you’re VERY good at it, you know by heart all the conversions of units of measures (including F to C, which is maaaaaad!!) I am such a fan and I wish you hit 2 and 3 and 4M faster and faster because you deserve it! And I’m so happy you’re reshooting the red velvet cake video, I haven’t even watched it yet, but will later today, it will finally get a chance to be stacked up on camera, YAY! Congrats dear, you MORE than deserve it, I’m really happy for you, seriously! QUEEN ❣️

I tried this recipe (half for 6” pan) and it’s a success! Thank you! It’s delicious without the bitter aftertaste that is sometimes present in other red velvet recipes. I used unsweetened natural cocoa since I read that it is best for red velvet since baking soda needs the acid from the natural cocoa.

Hi, should the egg quantity be reduced to 1 if u need 2 bake in 6inch pan? And how much quantity u used for baking powder and soda? Rest of the ingredients i guess I should take half... Even the frosting should be taken half the quantity right? Sorry to bother u this much... I'm doing on a trial basis before my kid's b'day..
@enialee82133 жыл бұрын
@@dhariniharikrishnan961 yes, if you’re only going to use half the recipe, you need to divide everything by 2. So 1 egg, and 1/2 tsp baking soda.

Stephanie is by far the go-to baker. A fantastic baker and equally fantastic communicator and teacher. In the UK we have the famous Mary Berry, but Stephanie seems a far nicer and personable lady. My daughter's asked me for a red velvet birthday cake. She's a huge Leonardo Di Caprio fan, so I was going to surprise her with a Django White Cake instead. Hopefully Stephanie has a recipe for one on her channel as we're not really accustomed to white cake in Scotland. Anyway, the jury's out regarding the red velvet vs white cake. 😄

In the UK, we have whipping cream - which is grand for most things - and then double (heavy) cream, with a higher fat content, which is good for combining with other things while keeping its volume.
