I took 250mg/day for a year and then 900mg/day for nearly a year. There wasn't a difference I could notice but a month or so ago a study giving NMN to mice of different ages showed there was significant kidney fibrosis occurring in the elderly mice only. I qualify as elderly. So I've stopped for the time being. But looking back at my blood tests, my eGFR numbers (a measure of kidney function) went from 93 to 85 over this same time frame. Higher is better. So if you're elderly, maybe think twice about NMN until more is known about the kidney business.

Been taking NMN for over a year now and I know I'm stronger like how I was 10 years ago. I'm 54 years young and I can tell I am stronger because my form exercise is going to the gym to lift weights. I got back my strength of dumbell pressing 80 pounds each for a total of 160 on the bench press. I only got back to the gym less than 6 months ago when the lockdown was lifted in my country. I squat 130 pounds, and deadlift 140. I wouldn't do that pre NMN because I was worried about my joints failing me. I can't say if my grey hair has lessened but one thing for sure is that it stopped my receding hairline and even grew back my hair. Fine lines on my face lessened as well. I can tell that NMN reversed my aging from my looks and my natural strength. I take 1.5 grams of NMN, TMG, and Resveratrol. I added quercetin and CoQ10. I'm also not taking any maintenance meds as compared to folks my age.

I've taken NMN and TMG for about 6 months. Within 3 weeks I had absolute proof it was working. About 5 years ago I got a bad case of psoriasis on my left elbow about the size of a 50 cent piece. Weekly, I would have to take a skin file to it and get rid of the extra dry skin. I'd have a small pile of skin powder to get rid of. Nothing helped it, and I just assumed I'd have it the rest of my life. Three weeks after starting the NMN, I just happened to notice one day the psoriasis was completely gone! For the first time in years, by elbow skin was back to like new! The skin thickness was no longer thick, like scar tissue. My normal thin skin was back, just like my good elbow. Nothing else I did could have healed my elbow. Wonderful! Also fewer joint pains and quicker recovery after golfing. I love it.

i think its important to think about how much time aging takes. siginificant changes in skin, hair etc can take time like 5 years atleast. So we can all assume that if ou take NMN it will also take some years to really see some results of "backwards" aging if it really works if you guys understand what i mean
@JTJaredTaylor Жыл бұрын
Hi Kylus, that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for making that point. We all really want a "magic pill" or a button that we can push to give us instant results. I do believe results can happen quickly because your body renews every cell within about 100 days but to your point it takes years to see the gradual effect of aging. I think it's a bit unrealistic to expect dramatic and significant changes overnight. Thanks again for your comment.

One very notable change has to do with something we all do as adults... rated x... so to abbreviate... a soreness and sensitivity that used to follow after a single round, even as a maturing teen, is completely gone. I don't have any morning fog or afternoon crashes anymore and I sleep like a rock. I dream more vividly. I noticed early on my endurance increased and I don't really feel nearly as tired after a long day of hiking. I was taking ibuprofen before going out as my hips would kill me if I didn't. That and a lot of other aches and pains have almost vanished. My mood is much more serene. Things that would annoy the crap out of me still might annoy me but the intensity is much lower and is soon gone. Stress levels are the same way. And for those of you concerned about the FDA ban. It's not banned yet and the major companies are still selling it and will fight back. I think this is a long way from over.

You're the typical person that fell for it. If you're dreaming vividly you already in trouble. Because you only dream just before you wake up in light sleep. That means you're not getting good rest and have several wake ups at night. That's typical for shallow sleepers. And if you had to crashes or no energy then something else might have been the cause.
@1WillyK2 жыл бұрын
@@levondarratt787 I do not wake up at night. Like I said, I sleep like a rock. I find my dreams often get interrupted by waking up in the morning. I sleep much better than I did before starting NMN. I used to wake up in the middle of the night all the time. I would say lack of sleep was the cause of fogginess and energy crashes. If it was "something else" as you claim how do you explain those issues clearing up if it wasn't the NMN? I believe NMN caused my sleep improvement, plus it went beyond that and has given me energy like I haven't seen in years. Would you care to explain my improvement in endurance and the lack of hip, knee and other pains? My eyesight improvement? Why my attitude, motivation and outlook on life have gotten better? I did my due diligence. I haven't fallen for anything. The results are there and they are real. For me and for thousands of others. Go ahead and die from cancer, heart disease or any number of other things while possibly suffering from Alzheimer's as well if you like. Sure, I may too but I may live to be over 100 and stay healthy to boot and NMN combined with a healthy lifestyle will give me a much better chance at doing so. You don't have a clue.

I am not weather-sensitive as I ALWAYS was, I don't have diarrhoea I ALWAYS had, I am stronger and more resilient. And I have different dreams than usual. Is it a placebo effect? Not in my case - I bought NMN many years ago, I don't quite remember why. I didn't have any expectations. NMN has an effect but studies show none? Clearly they are designed incorrectly, possibly on purpose. For example, why would anything I experienced have anything to do with "improved" cholesterol? Why then the "studies" focus on cholesterol, that is not impacted by NMN? Wish you all the best!

I was an athlete in high school and college (track and field and football). I began losing muscle (sarcopenia) at age 76. My muscles are slowly coming back (reverse of sarcopenia?) at age 83. My weight is now 190 pounds (my weight as a junior in high school)-down from a high of 255 pounds in college. I believe it is due to NMN, apigenin, quercetin, fisetin, PQQ, HIT, (high intensity training), TRE (time-restricted eating) etc. Thanks for response.

But I do not have either I checked my blood sugar for ages and my Dr says he had checked for both. My online investigations lead to someone suggesting I took Vit B1 (Thymine - shortage of this can cause all sorts of problems that I did not have) so I took Vit B complex for several months with perhaps a marginal improvement. However within a week of taking MNM (600mg per day) the problem has completely disappeared.

I had side effects for a month or so which were - insane appetite, ectopic heart beats (but not scary or painful in any way), and a sensation in my body of blood surging in my periphery - eg hands feeling hotter and a weird but nice flushing feeling (not menopausal by the way). These all went after a month, however I do have a greater appetite at night which I find hard to fight off - end up snacking on things I know I don’t need before I go to bed. Jared : you left out an Important thing - what is your daily dosage of NMN ? Dosing level is critical - also you need to do a Horvath methylation clock check to see if your NMN protocol has slowed your aging clock finally ORAL COLLAGEN use has been debunked as useless ineffective and a waste of money - you just inject it and piss it out - topical collagen as well You need to do microneedle with RF radio frequency to create new collagen - use PRP platelet replacement at the end of the procedure , along with SELPHYL , which together create NEW collagen formation in the skins epithelial tissue and form a bridge or lattice upon which the new collagen hangs . Check it out dude . And make sure your daily NMN is about 2 grams BTW Sinclair has petitioned the FDA to categorize NMN as a drug - and that was approved you’re days of over the counter purchases of NMN are over soon

Hi Steve, lot of good stuff here. Thanks for taking the time. I'm 145lbs and taking 1gram per day. I've also been taking 1gram of resveratrol and recently started taking TMG. I've seen way too much anecdotal evidence regarding taking collagen to believe it has no effect. I know it's a topic for debate and there's more to it than just taking a collagen supplement. Some doctors prescribe it and others say it has not effect. Yet I hear examples nearly every day of people who "take it" and see improvements. Myself included. I did do a blood test for measuring biological age before I started taking NMN. I'm going to check again in about 6 months to see if there has been any change. We'll see if the FDA completely halts the sale of NMN. I've seen it before with other supplements in the past go back and forth. It's a good thing there are other things you can do. Besides improving skin laxity and photoaging damage the RF actually produces NEW collagen and SELPHYL creates a calcium carbonate lattice for the collagen (which fills in structure from bone loss fat loss muscle loss ) Finally ONESKIN uses Peptide bonding and has lab studies proving new skin STEM CELL formation after 30 days using twice per day - nothing has EVER created NEW young skin via stem cells - which reverses the actual age of the skin all layers

Good question. My understanding is that NAD+ molecules are too large for your body to actually absorb them through the blood stream. For that reason, some people have opted to get injections which works but you have to find someone who will do it and it's expensive. The other option is liposomal NAD+ though I'm not sure of its effectiveness. My friend takes it and really believes it's helpful. I know that's not a definitive answer but I hope that helps.

Great video as always and glad it’s working so well for you. Quick question for you if that’s ok, I found a very low bread which as 0.3g of carbs per slice which seems amazing but the ingredients include wheat protein, Wheat wholemeal flour, barley malt and oat fibre. Are these ok? Strange as the carbs are so low at 0.3g net per slice but these ingredients seem non-keto. Most other keto breads are around 3-4g per bagel for example but all ingredients are keto friendly as almond, coconut based. Just strange that the one above is one tenth the carb amount but seems to have non keto ingredients in it, but probably low amounts

None of those are good. All of them have lectins. The worst lectin is WGA, which comes from wheat bran. The outer coating of a grain is very high in lectins. You are better off eating white wheat bread....any grain as long as it has the outer coating removed. Whole grains are WORSE for you than white grain breads. You can get your fibre somewhere else....psyllium fibre is great. There are lots of soluble fibres that are great too (Inulin but it might make you gassy, and guar fibre is awesome, there are many others that don't have lectins). Sourdough bread is the best alternative to all of these grain breads because the fermentation process breaks down the gluten, which is also a lectin. Treat carbs as a treat, and pick the healthiest carbs of the ones available. Just be low-carb in general. One of the worst things I was eating that caused my Triglycerides and LDL cholesterol to spike high was when I was eating LOTS of those stupid "Bran Buds" cereal. Yes, high fibre, but super high lectins too.

Now I'm wondering if NMN and electrolytes are somehow tied together. I've been a Martial Artist since the early 80's, I'm now 61 and after a work induced 10 year layoff I'm back in a new dojo. I'm studying a new style as well with a lot of differences than my previous style in which I hold a 3rd Dan ranking. I started about a month ago and I've been on NMN for around 2 months. I've noticed a few things since going on NMN, my desire for coffee has gone way down, and my desire for electrolytes has gone way up. I've also noticed that my energy and endurance in the dojo has improved significantly and not only recovery time but rehab time as well. Early on I made a rookie mistake and pulled my hamstring. About a 5 on the 1-10 scale. I thought I'd be out for a month but I actually recovered to about 90%-95% in 8-10 days and was back to punching and kicking. I still use caution but I'm happy. Back in my 20's I would've been back in 2-3 days at 100% so at 61 I'll 10 days with a smile.

Kirk, thank you so much for sharing. You're obviously a great athlete. I appreciate hearing about your experience as one of the reasons I started taking NMN was in hopes that it would help with strength, endurance and recovery. I've seen that it has. One thing I'll say about electrolytes is that I've been low carb keto and that certainly increases the need for more electrolytes. I just didn't realize that I needed much more than I was getting. Increasing it helped a lot. Oh and healing a pulled hammy that quickly is amazing! Such great feedback. Thanks again for sharing.

Hello my friend! Although I haven’t come across any scientific peer reviewed data in regards to the connection of NMN and electrolytes all I can say is this: “Electrolytes are minerals in your blood and other body fluids that carry an electric charge. They affect how your body functions in many ways, including: The amount of water in your body. The acidity of your blood (pH) Your muscle function. Furthermore, your cells use electrolytes to conduct electrical charges, which is how your muscles contract. Those same electrical charges also help with chemical reactions, especially when it comes to hydration and the balance of fluids inside and outside of cells.” With that said, NMN is a precursor to NAD+, or nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, which means that it becomes NAD+ through chemical transformation. In turn, NAD+ increases glutathione levels in the body via the liver. Glutathione is largely considered to be the most important antioxidant in the human body; it neutralizes free radicals and maintains cellular homeostasis. Reactive oxygen species or oxygen metabolites like superoxide dismutase and hydrogen peroxide, are generated in all cells and can damage lipids, DNA, and proteins. Glutathione is primarily concentrated in the liver and is crucial to the body's detoxification process. Glutathione synthesis occurs within the cells and is made up of the amino acids, glutamine, glycine, and N-Acetyl Cysteine, NAC. Now, the effects of Glutathione are many. Glutathione is essential for the immune system's proper functioning and is vital in building and repairing tissue. It acts as an important antioxidant, which helps protect your body from damage to cells caused by free radicals.

Is this like a performance substance or a stimulant? The extra energy, and in erase of except use ability suggests this. Is it addictive?
@JTJaredTaylor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Yolanda, great questions. It's a molecule that occurs naturally in many of the foods we eat like broccoli, cabbage, cucumber and avocado. Of course a supplement is more concentrated. It certainly isn't a stimulant and it's not considered a "performance" enhancing substance. It increases NAD+ levels in your body. NAD+ (commonly referred to as NAD) is found in every living cell. Without it you would die in a matter of seconds. It's important for many things like repairing DNA and proper mitochondrial function. When you get older NAD levels decline. So it's helpful to increase those levels in the body. When you do, you can experience more energy, strength and endurance as well as other benefits. It's not a given and some people report no improvements but many do. There are a lot of factors that go into that. In my experience it's not addictive in the least and I have found research that NAD therapy has actually been helpful in treating other addictions. I hope that helps.

Hi Vee, I've been talking to a friend of mine Marcel James his channel is called "The Pulse" he knows a lot more about this topic than I do. He has been doing some research and has found that it seems about 80% of people see noticeable results and 20% report no benefit. My thoughts are that results take time to measure. There are other factors as well. He also reported that people are are active seem to notice the benefits more. If you're interested in learning more about NMN I would highly recommend his channel.

It could be because you’re still young so your body is producing enough NAD+ on its own. I felt nothing when first took it a few years ago but now I can feel the energy boost. I cook all day in a Chinese restaurant and NMN has help me get through the day without getting extremely tired. I still drink a energy drink at midday but before I would drink 3 a day. 😅
@vee86332 жыл бұрын
@@JTJaredTaylor I have already had this conversation with Marcel a couple times via comments and replies. He is very nice to respond and I have watched his videos regarding the 20%. Why is it that the 80% seem to feel it right away if it takes time? 7 months is good amount of time I would think and hundreds of dollars later. I'm considering trying NR instead. I'm pretty active and I religiously take Pilates reformer classes and I hike and I am 60.
@JTJaredTaylor2 жыл бұрын
Hi Vee, yes Marcel is a good guy. I'm not sure why one person feels a difference while others don't. We all respond to things in different ways. Some people can eat lots of carbs and not gain weight while others feel like if they just look at carbs they gain weight. Some people have an allergy to a specific food like shellfish and others can eat it every day. Some people are good a Pilates and others aren't' (like me 😄) NR may be a good option. Some say it works better than NMN and others say NMN works better. Maybe it just depends on the individual. Sorry I can't give you a better more scientific answer. I hope you are able to find what works for you.

I wonder if the energy increase that many people have reported is a placebo effect of NMN. We need more objective studies on this, especially who would benefit most from this effect.
@JTJaredTaylor Жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right. We do need more studies. I'm looking forward to hearing about the results from studies that are currently ongoing. As for placebo. I've tried a lot of different supplements in my life time and I certainly can't say I'm not prone to placebo but I also have a hard time explaining the results that I've seen when I first started taking it and continue to see now. If it's placebo, I'll take it. I've been quite happy so far.

@@JTJaredTaylor The placebo effect may be more beneficial than NMN's pharmacological effects themselves. Just imagine, a totally biologically inert substance has the ability to improve all sorts of medical conditions in ways that science cannot yet explain. @@JTJaredTaylor I don’t understand what that means but if it’s any thing to do with cigarettes or drugs or anything like that we don’t do any of those things
@JTJaredTaylor2 жыл бұрын
Hey Tommy, it has nothing to do with cigarettes. I see how anyone may think that. "Nicotinamide" sounds a lot like it might be nicotine but it's actually more like vitamin B. You have what's called NAD+ in your body. It plays a very important role in your health. Without it you would die in seconds. As you age NAD+ levels diminish and you start experiencing the effects of "aging". NMN is a molecule that helps increase levels of NAD+. NAD+ triggers shifts in your body that enhance survival, including boosting energy production and upregulating cellular repair. I hope that helps.
