Ice fishing is fun! You are a good fisher man to fish in this kind of weather. Thumbs up to you my friend Juanelo.

True fishermen never cease to amaze me. I try not to leave the house in a Texas winter, much less getting out on the ice to catch a few fish! You're a better man than I am! As usual I totally enjoyed the video my friend! Please give Miss. Lulu a hug from me.

Hi Janine! If my mother could see me, she'd say "you're crazy! You need to have your head examined!" LOL! But I felt the pressure to catch a fish from my younger viewers! I was lucky I caught one! Professor juanelo! I could feel and taste the crunch of that fish! What an excellent recipe. The daikon fries looked lovely as well! That's pretty great that your local market keeps it in stock... you know my friend, I always look through the comments on your videos, and it's simply unreal how consistent you are with replying to everyone ( I discovered you on Reddit, where the post mentioned that you were a channel that does excellent catch and cooks, and that you reply to everyone's comment) I was absolutely addicted after watching a handful of videos... also, you have such an unbelievably supportive family here on KZbin... the positive comments are unreal....this is such a beautiful family you have curated sir, and I think I speak for everyone when I say thank you. You and miss cheeks are amazing. Can't thank you enough for the content. You are a ray of sunshine in a dark canyon. Much much love from Jason in maine❤️

Hi Jason! You're too kind! Whoever mentioned me on reddit is too kind too! My goal in making these videos is not so much to demonstrate fishing or cooking, but to generate a smile! People here are so nice! I'm so honored and humbled. I do these videos for fun, but I never expected such warm and kind responses! If I got you to smile, you made my day! Thanks loads for watching and especially for leaving the very nice comment my friend! All the best to you and yours!

@Juanelo19467 жыл бұрын
Hi Puppy! Oh no! Stay off the ice down there! It's rarely thick enough anywhere in Georgia to chance it, as you already know! LOL! Ice fishing can be great fun, but when the ice is starting to melt in the spring, we can't go out on it! Then you guys down there can be fishing open water already! Another great video, Juanelo! The fish were really cooperating this time. Everything looked so delicious. I love the idea of using radishes for fries. I can imagine that is very tasty!
@Juanelo19467 жыл бұрын
Hi Kendall! It's a real treat to catch a fish through the ice! Yes, the radish fries weren't that crispy but they were very tasty, delicious in fact! But you have to deep fry them for 15 minutes to get them crispy. I've done it that way before. Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

My kids got me an air fryer for the holidays and I'm betting that if you used one for these "fries" they would crisp up great. It's been a big help in my kitchen. Love your videos I always get a chuckle.
@Juanelo19467 жыл бұрын
Hi PNW Granny! You're very kind! Yes, I've seen a number of air fryers demonstrated on KZbin and they beat the oven in getting things crispy every time. I should get one, huh? Once I did get these Daikon radish fries crispy, but I deep fried them for 15 minutes. They shriveled to ¼ the original size but they were crispy! Thanks a million for watching and leaving the great comment my friend!!!

You have some massive bluegill there! I don't envy your weather but I do envy your blugill and the resulting meal!

Hi THC! The bass in the lake aren't big like they were years ago. Long story... But the bluegill have always run large here! If only it were warmer like where you are! Spring can't come soon enough! Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

Wow, John that sure looked cold out there on the lake..But those couple of fish were monsters...The recipe looks delicious..I would like to try those fish in my airfryer....Not sure about the Dicon..I've tried it before and it was not my favorite. but I'm not much of a radish eater....Love the show as always...

Hi Mike! The weather was brutal this day (17 days ago)! The KFC seasoning was great on the fish. The next time, I'll use even more of the spices! I think the air fryer would way outperform an oven! I was tempted to deep fry everything. It sure would have made the daikon fries crispy too. I've deep fried them before. (It takes 15 minutes to get them crispy). Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

Hi bob joe! As I type this, a warm front has moved in and the ice is melting. It looks like ice fishing will have to wait a couple of weeks at least. Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

Hi Connor! I hope the perch come back too, but bluegill are delicious too! I was unable to do any fishing for next week's video. The ice was not safe. But I'm making a yummy recipe, Italian sandwich roll-ups! Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

Stir for 3 hours, lol! I always hate when recipes make things seem easy. You're videos are certainly for the common man. I especially love when you say " it says salt to taste but how am I supposed to taste this?" So true! See you next week my friend
@Juanelo19467 жыл бұрын
Hi SW! Exactly! The recipe made these fries sound like a snap! But it wasn't so easy, nor were the fries very crispy! I always have trouble when they say "salt to taste!" LOL! In the end, the (limp) fries tasted great and the fish too! Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

Always learning and being entertained with your videos. We haven't been able to find the Daikon radishes in our neck of the woods, but we have made turnip fries as you once suggested. I do make them a little differently though. I mix one egg and a couple tablespoons of heavy whipping cream and dip the turnip fries in that, then I roll them in a mix of 1/3 cup Carb Counters all-purpose flour with Old Bay Seasonings and salt & pepper. Then I fry them for in an electric skillet in about a 1/2 inch of Canola Oil (you could use peanut oil or whatever you want) for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees. The coating adds a "little" crispiness to them. Anyhow, PLEASE, Mr. Juanelo, stay safe on that ice. Glad to see you had your spikes with you, but I hope you never need them! Stay warm!

Hi enduringpatriot! You know more about frying these things than I do! Yes, I love your way of making turnip fries! As you know I did something like that in the past with coconut flour and deep frying them. Yup, 15 minutes is the way to get them crispy! Right! Thanks a million for visiting and leaving the kind words my friend!

@Juanelo19467 жыл бұрын
Lyle, I have deep fried them after coating them in almond or coconut flour (I forgot which). After 15 minutes they became CRISPY!! They were like 1/4 their original bulk though! LOL! Thanks for watching my friend!
