Thank you for the explanation between the previous static tone mapping and the dynamic tone mapping. You can clearly see the overall image is brighter with DTM especially in scenes which have dark and light areas in the same frame, more detail in the darker areas . The sun reflecting over the mountain had more specular highlights with the DTM. The lake itself was more natural with depth and varying shading with DTM.

With the 3.11 update, it looks like the color was increased a couple notches and the contrast was increased a bit as well, but to the point where some highlights or brighter areas are being blown out and have lost detail. I presume that this was due to the camera and that detail wasn't lost if viewed in person?

Interesting choice - pairing a ambient light rejecting screen with a JVC. What screen is it? How's the texture on it? I've found any ALR have too much texture for a batcave environment - but in a room like that it's pretty good. Suppose it'd improve HDR performance too by increasing in-scene contrast due to absorbing washout.

What's the maximum width (2.40:1) screen you can use with the 2000 and still have acceptable viewing experience (NITS)??

is it just me who sees this? the picture on the right after the update looks blown out and the detail is just gone...a really good example of this at 4:23, just look at the rocks just above the persons hand in the helicopter! the B side to me looks before the update as there is clearly a lot more detail to be seen on the left side,thats pretty obvious.

interesting. some cameras add artifacts that arent there to the human eye. You can be right though. i remember filming this and the after looked great. it was really noticeable difference before and after

Even on the camera you can notice it, much better handling of the brights, I wish my Sony TV would get this update lol that thing can look quite dark on scenes where you think it would be bright, thanks for the content

Haven't seen your brother for a while. Where did he go? Should we report him as a missing person?

"noticeable," but not necessarily better. Details in darker content were more prominent before the upgrade and light output was higher after (to the point of loss of detail in brighter parts). I expect some tweaking could have improved the after picture, but I don't think this video "sells" the newer firmware very well.

Got 2000 in December from Zach. Installed new firmware after 1 week viewing old firmware. It made my fav Original Blade Runner dark scenes better, shadow detail improved.
@Boots39624 жыл бұрын
so you are overall happy with it ? What screen size and gain are you using with it
@Trojan03044 жыл бұрын
120 screen 1.3 gain with blackout screens over windows.
@Boots39624 жыл бұрын
@@Trojan0304 So completely dark room, 1.3 gain and only on a 120inch screen, wouldnt that be really bright ?

Turned lamp on low . Projector 16 feet from screen. So HDR bright enough for me. Low lamp also reduces fan noise a lot so don’t notice it

Now were talking, split screen for comparison! The contrast is definitely better with the update. Good preview! How did you get the widescreen with the JVC? I thought they were only able to project a 16X9 format? For anyone who knocks JVC its because they haven't seen one first hand. This is the kind of blacks you can't quite get with a laser or any other projector. JVC rocks!

Do you guys ship with the new firmware pre installed?

Have you come up with any issues with the JVC.... i heard heaps of yellowing and lots of recalls ? Im stuck deciding between the JVC RS2000 and the Sony 695es..... Its too hard

No, no, no...you haven’t reviewed the JVC 1000....you compared the Epson to JVC’s new laser projector.....careful with the misinformation. I’m still waiting your comparison of JVC’s 1000 vs 2000. You only did an unboxing of the 1000.

Not true. Just because the video isnt published does not mean that I have not filmed the video. I meant what I said in the video..
