do that push punch at exactly the same speed as you do the sap punch and drive thru an extra 2 inches and you will see a difference.. the push punch is very powerful if done correctly but everyone demonstrates a push punch at like 25% speed and then with a snap they go 100% speed.. a push punch at 100% speed is very heavy and effective.. try it..

Yeah I agree sometimes investing your fundamentals in the push punch is best for certain types of fighters with a boxing style that would suit that type of punch more effectively. However there is a reason why the majority of pros and good amateurs use the shoulder snap. It just has so many advantages in speed, impact power, and stability. You can always stay centered when throwing snap punches, when you drive through the extra two inches like you were explaining, unless you're very skilled, you'll always end up throwing yourself slightly off balance which means it will be harder to defend punches, you'll throw slower combinations, and you'll have to reset your positioning at the end of every boxing exchange assuming you drive heavy off the last punch in the combo. Also I agree that he was taking it much easier throwing the push punch in this video, however I believe that on average most snapping punches are much quicker than most push punches. A loose quick shoulder snap is much faster than a very tense shoulder push, and maybe even more important is that if done correctly the snap punch should return right back to guard with little to no effort. Pushing punches do not contain the same recall effect at all.

Greta video!!! Can u make a video on just what is happening, as far as acceleration and tension, as soon as the fist hits the back. What happens in the retraction phase? Do you pull back with the scapula or is it just rotation that provides the power?

Nate I'm become lazy at boxing I'm 16. I've been growing so I'm gaining weight. What's the best way to lose weight. Should I just do cardio instead of cardio and lifting. Please help

Sounds like good advice. That was a fast ass combo you threw smh. Could you make a video breaking down the technical aspects of throwing a double straight left hand? I'm able to land my straight left often and I'm trying to work out the kinks to be able to land a second one and I would like your thoughts on it. Thanks

Your "snap" punches are half pushed. Snap and effective punches should be cleaner than that.

NateBowerFitness also too close for proper snap usually your arm locks out but also at risk to over extend (Wich is not good)
