Alleppey Fish Curry recipe
Ingredients:
Fish - 500 g.
Grated coconut - 1 coconut.
Green mango - 1 mango cut into medium pieces.
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Kashmiri/Red chili powder - 3 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp.
Fenugreek seeds - One pinch.
Ginger garlic - 1 tsp crushed.
Shallot - 8 to 10 crushed.
Green chili - 3 crushed.
Red chili - 3 nos.
Curry leaves - 2 sprig
Coconut oil - As per required
Water - As required
Salt -
Preparation
Wet grind the coconut with 3 tsp chili powder and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder.
Heat some oil in a sauce pan. Add crushed ginger garlic, shallot, green chili, and curry leaves. Cook till its raw smell is gone. Add wet grinded coconut and water as required. Add mango and salt. Allow the gravy to boil. It is the time to add fish and 1 spring of curry leaves. Finely cook the fish in a low flame. Rotate the curry as shown in the video.
Heat some oil in a pan. Add fenugreek seeds and mustard seeds. Allow the mustard seeds to pop. Add curry leaves and red chili. Pour it to the fish curry. Our Alleppey Fish Curry is ready.
Tips:
If you did not get enough sour taste from green mango, add kudam puli.
