Witchfire is great! Very tough, but feels surmountable and has a smooth core gameplay loop. More content is what it needs, so I'm looking forward to release.

I've been having a lot of fun with it! It's not quite what I expected it would be when I saw trailers for it ages ago but its been a ton of fun regardless. Side note: love your username.

I can tell ya as a developer and studio owner 24 hours a day isnt enough lol. I am putting in 12+ hours a day and I feel like I am runing in mud or tar. Once streamers help push us and community grows big enough to be heard funding will come. We will then bring on 40 devs. 24 hours a day still wont be enough LOL

1:05 That's not a surprising time frame actually. Swen already said in previous interviews that a development cycle of 6 years is too long (though he said in the same interview that one of the reasons for the 6 years development of BG 3 was Covid) and that Larian is aiming for a 4-year cycle. They started development of their new projects in early 2024 - add four years and we have a 2028 release window. He said he actually hopes for 3 years of development but that would most likely not happen. 7:25 I've said it in regards to Dragon Age 4 and I say it again in regards to Greedfall: Sequels should stay true to their predecessors. Greedfall had action combat, therefore Greedfall 2 should have action combat too (even though I vastly prefer RTwP over action based and true turn based over RTwP). Dragon Age on the other hand must not have action combat - all of the previous titles had tactical RTwP combat and Dragon Age 4 should have that as well.

To the first point yeah I agree, they have their teams in place already and they have a proven formula. I think weight of expectation could stretch it a little just because they want to get it *right* following bg3 but it'll definitely be one of those things I'm hanging on every word ya know? I wanna see what they do next. To the second point I'd suggest bg3 proved that diverging from previous iterations can work. They went from real time with pause to full on turn based. With da specifically they're pretty much defined by their inconsistent combat changing with every game, who knows maybe greedfall will do the same if they get a 3rd title.

@@RedbeardflynnRollsAOne Actually all DA games so far had RTwP combat. What DA 2 and Inquisition lacked was the in-depth scripting options of Origins. All the other aspects where there: You can pause at any moment to give each character individual commands, switch the camera to a tactical overview, switch direct control between party members, 4-man party with detcated roles (= tank, healer, DD) - it's actually not that different in the first three games. This new game however diverges completely. Instead it uses what appears to be a copy of the combat in Mass Effect: the ability selection wheel, no switching between characters, no tactical camera and no longer a full party with designated roles but 2 squadmates instead. Don't get me wrong, I love Mass Effect, but the combat wheel was the biggest weakness of those games. And it's MAss Effect, not Dragon Age.

@@Hauke-ph5ui I disagree that Dragon Age should not be action oriented since the series started as a divergence from TRPG to more action centric rpg with tactical elements. But I do agree in that Veilguard is the worst implementation of how Dragon Age's combat is supposed to be and will probably feel bad.
@Hauke-ph5ui2 ай бұрын
@@deathstar6998 Veilguard doesn't have Dragon Age combat at all. It's Mass Effect Combat which would be fine if it was a Mass Effect game. It isn't though, it's Dragon Age.

@@Hauke-ph5ui I don't disagree with you but I also don't agree with you mainly because I enjoy mass effect and feel like the gunplay is super satisfying. I haven't got my hands on Veilguard yet but from the sound design alone I know its going to feel weightless and pointless.
