Sadly - telling the truth can be career suicide. You have to know when to pick your battles
@Galifamackus3 жыл бұрын
@@ThorMaximus It can be detrimental but it can also be what propagates your career too. With unending truth comes unbreakable trust And when you and someone else can completely trust each other is when you can be most productive while maintaining a strong bond. David Goggins and Jordan Peterson give good examples

Yeah of course it depends who you say it to doesn't it, truth may not always be the good thing to tell, especially to bad people, ehh.

TED Talks are always good. This is no exemption. She was very practical advising us to "know thyself". Learn limitations and work one oneself to become awesome. A real awesome speech.

Not true. Some TED talks are the same concepts of "you can do it!" or "you don't get it!" over and over again.

This was really great and I do agree with everything she said. The problem with people is that many want to be successful but not all want to pay the price to reach the top. That's just about it!

IW Nunn Hahaha definitely! Just like some people here who think they are fluent in a foreign language "just because they have a certificate". Okay! When they actually need to use it not a single word comes out... I study International Relations and I get frustrated with such things. People acting like they're such great thinkers/philosophers and stuff when actually they can't see much further from the box they're stuck in and their beliefs and point of view are the only absolute truth. I guess you can relate lol.

Her message was good, and to the point. She didn't focus it on leaders, I think she meant that anyone in any situation can become a leader if only they followed these 3 key steps. I think it's simple, and very practical- I liked it. My takeaway is that I need to also do something about it, not just figure out my problem area, but take responsibility, and invest in me, before I expect anyone else to -another point well made! Kudos to her!
