4.70.76 latest firmware version is here (LG Korean Website). Works with North American TV's as well as other regions (Same software)

USA site should update with it as well but always lags behind as well as the official PUSH (Auto Download).
Biggest issue with Dolby Vision was on Apple TV 4K player were black bars were grey during some scenes that are letterbox. Other scenes would also suffer the same fate, this issue is now fixed.

I am having trouble with Dolby Vision being detected from my PC atm with the december firmware up to the recent .76. Worked fine beforehand, HDR10 is functioning perfectly. Between games and videos on with Madvr passing thru HDR data.

Thank you for posting this TechFan! Hey, I just bought a brand new C7 and love it but the Dolby Digital Atmos app from the app store does not work, the videos just load indefinitely. I returned the first one becuas eof this issue and my brand new second C7 panel has the same issue, dolby atmos app doesn't play. Does the dolby atmos app work on yours to play the atmos demo videos? How were you able to get it to play?

The app works for sure on my E7 which is the same as the C7 but what version is your TV currently at?

Just to confirm you are trying to load "Dolby Access" right? When you try to watch a video it never loads, you just get the loading circle?

Tech Fan yep, that's exactly right. The Dolby access app keeps running the loading circle butt doesn't play the video.

So this actually is a common problem due to the WiFi being poor from the TV and often complained about, if you try the wired connection to your LAN or move your WiFI router closer to the TV the problem will go away. Now I have heard from another user that WiFi was improved in .70 (Someone told them from LG), so that might be something to try. I actually am wired direct as well and do not rely on WiFi so I can't really say if it's improved myself. So you are not going crazy and your actual TV is fine expect that they did a crappy job implementing the WiFi signal (either software or hardware) which as I was saying might be fixed in .70 which would be software as you can guess. Hope that helps?

Hey i just bought this tv and it should be coming in soon I'm excited. But what was wrong with Dolby Vision before this update?

Example would be AppleTV and Dolby Vision, when watching a movie in DV some scenes would have a greyish tint over true black. Interstellar would be one of those at the end when the credits roll along with other scenes. Also the black bars that you see on top and bottom of some movies would not be completely black either. This was fixed in the latest version .70 and not something you will experience with older software unless you actually watch a DV video via HDMI (Internal apps are said not have the issue, I only tested ATV and it looks great). Issue is on HDMI only, not internal stuff, again this was fixed in the latest release. There is no reason not to update to .70 or stay at .36 or greater, might come with something in the middle depending on build date. Any earlier software will have various other issues that you will see and notice like audio sync issues and white lines showing up on the very bottom at times etc. Most issues were all fixed in .36 or later and .70 really only fixes DV, have not seen anything else improved but some stuff can be behind the covers for improvement.

thank you i actually got my tv that day but i only use internal apps. not sure if this pertains to anyone else but this update fixes another problem i had for my tv which was its wifi connection. For example my internet speeds are 900 mbps but whenever i turn my tv on its speed would be only 2 mbps . Id have to reset my router reconnect and it would work at full speed. But with this update my tv's wifi speed stays at its highest and i never need to reset my router. Very helpful (however my speed for the tv seems to cap off at 200 mbps wireless and 100 mbps wired)

good news, there were early complaints of slower speeds from more distant WiFi routers in ones home. Maybe even closer, I always when I can go LAN vs WiFi. Enjoy the TV, it's a great buy!

In the settings, radio buttons is grey =off, red=on or the opposite, most confusing, why not use green for on.

Should be fine, if it doesn't load then it's not, the TV will not update with software that it's not intended for, there are safety guards in place to not allow for the incorrect software to be loaded. So there is no way to mess anything up, LG was kind enough (really to stop more service calls) to write that into the software etc.

Do you mean when you try to auto download? Latest version has to be downloaded onto a USB and then installed on the TV as I noted in my how to upgrade video. This video shows the update being applied. Check out my other video on how to update your C7 firmware. The auto update or update in the menu will not upgrade to this version as it has not been pushed yet. Also I was not aware version .50 was being pushed out, so comment back. Thanks!

i got my tv about 2 weeks ago, it was manufactured just last month and I think it came with 04.70.50. I have never tried usb updating but will do so now for .70. thanks

Word is no, it doesn't fix it or change and from what I am reading LG does not see this as a bug, rather the way it should be.

It shouldn’t be this way though. Game mode on the dimmer a1e is much much brighter.

Im still on 4.70.36 (I think) and hdr gaming has been fine for me. Ive only played GOW4 and Assassins Creed. Maybe my ignorance is bliss but it looks damn fine to me.

sounds good, LG has a slow release process to the US site and well as push, the Korean site always has the latest for North America which also applies to other regions. One TIP for you and others is that you can use a browser that auto translates Korean to English, but navigating is easy anyway with the link I posted.

The biggest change is that they corrected issues with Dolby Vision which impacted playback for a few sources such as Apply TV and streaming services that playback in DV. The issue was with black and that it was display more like as grey and not black (elevated levels as well). Interstellar was a movie that suffered the issue as well as a few others during some scenes. Only notes LG posted on this version was a fix for a power on issues but not sure which TV that actually applied to. They do a terrible job of keeping a change log and or proving that to us, drives me crazy...
