My taskbar hides all the bottom of any windows when using this app, how did you get it so that it doesn't do this like in your video, you can see the green/red bars to signify the screen area and allocated size, but how to change the size to not include the taskbar area?

Nice application, and great explanation! FYI, the "monitor split" feature can now be handled by the Windows 11 OS natively. Does anyone know if this software allows for you to show 2 or more sources? For example, if you have two computers plugged in.

Windows 11 here but unlikely people will be using anytime soon as the system requirements for it are ridiculous. If you want to use 2 PC connected to the same monitor, you can look into "Ultrawide Monitor - Setting Up Dual Controller" on LGs website. Another option is using "Mouse without Borders" which achieve the same thing, 1 mouse, 1 keyboard, 1 monitor, 2 PCs. Hope that helps.

I don't fully understand your question but I think you want to know if you can mirror and extend your display, and the answer is Yes, you can. - Mirror (duplicate): In Mirror Mode the computer monitor duplicates the monitor on the external display so that you see the same picture on both the desktop and projector (monitor). - Extend: In Extend Mode the external display is treated as a separate screen so that you can have a different windows open on the projector (monitor) and desktop. It's a little confusing, but you can connect an external TV/Monitor to a laptop or a phone etc you'll see what I mean.

I am currently using Microsoft Powertoys where I have full control on customizing my screenzones and more. Is there any added value in installing the LG onscreen control? Can't seem to find one if I look to this video.

I agree, Microsoft Powertoys works just as well, however On-Screen Control allows you access your LG Monitors settings, that you would normally access using the Menu button on the monitor. It's not a big deal but something to point out.

has someone found out how to supress the snipping when dragging an app window into a 2 screen split LG monitor ie moving the app window from one monitor (not LG) into the LG monitor - w/o having to deactivate the OnScreen Control (eg having some key pressed while dragging the app window around)? dell monitors for example can be set to only snip if I drag and press the Shift ... so that I can still move windows around freely w/o being forced to snip into a whole (split) pane; can be quite annoying if you for instance just wanna place a small app (like notes or so) window in your monitor

You would have to use the toggle on the screen to use the different HDMI ports... however it is possible to use two PCs connected to the same monitor without switching between the HDMI ports but for that you need to install something like LGs Dual Controller or Mouse without Borders.

Yes, it will work with PowerPoint, however when you start the slide show (F5) then you will see the full screen regardless of your split screen settings.

1. My LG monitor is directly connected to my CPU (PC) 2. The LG OnScreen control software is for your LG monitor and I would recommend that you make your LG monitor as the main monitor. Remember that the idea behind LG OnScreen control is to make efficient use of extra wide monitor, so using it with a tiny screen like your laptop isn’t ideal. I hope that answers your question. On-Screen Control is a separate application you can install from LG's main website. It's available for both Windows and MAC users.

The download was for Windows. What if you have a a Windows laptop connected and a MAC connected to a second input source and you then select that secondary source. Assume you would need to download the MAC version of the software as well if you want to use screen zoning on the MAC?

Yes, you would but if you have two machines ( x1Windows & 1xMAC) connected to the same monitor, you can use only one at a time. There are software that you can download that would allow you to use both Windows and MAC... LG provides a software called Dual Controller which you can use with the split screen software.

Yes, you can split the screen the way you want and specify which applications you want to open in which side and they will stay there... so you can have stocks chart on left side and news on the right for example... or any other applications. LG Split Screen is best for LG monitors but if you have another make, you can install other split screen software like: - WindowsGrid - GridMove - AltDrag - Divvy - UltraView Desktop Manager - MaxTo - Microsoft PowerToys

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling it back. Try restarting your PC/laptop also once it is installed.

I don't know about connecting a console and a PC to a single monitor... but I know connecting two PCs to the same monitor will work. LG has a software called Dual Controllers which you can use or another option is Mouse without Borders.

So 'OnScreen Control' is an application that you can install on Laptop, Desktop or even server but it may not work as you expect it. If you are RDP-ing or using Citrix to a remote machine then you ideally you want 'On Screen Control' to be installed on your local computer. Remember that the purpose of this application is to allow you manage or utilize the extra space on your monitor in efficient way (i.e. multi-task), so if you don't have the monitor then the application isn't very useful. For example, you can install 'OnScreen Control' on your laptop but it won't do anything, because when you launch the application it will ask you to connect to an external monitor. I hope I have answered your question. :)

@@terra.nova06 Glad to hear that it's working :) The response time of a monitor LG 22MK400H 22 inch is 1ms and something you cannot change. It's what your monitor supports. If you are a gamer and want a smoother feel to your game play, you can change the refresh rate. The refresh rate is how fast your screen refreshes and your monitor is 75Hz. You can change the refresh rate in Windows by right click desktop > Display settings > Advanced display settings > Display adapter properties for display 1 > Monitor (tab) and finally using the drop down, you can select one of the available refresh (Hz). Higher refresh such as 140Hz or 240Hz is ideal for competitive gaming. I hope that helps.

Try installing a different version that doesn't match your model number but it does match your screen size. So if you screen is 34 inch, then install any available 34XXXX-X application. It may or may not work though but it's worth trying.

You cannot re-size the actual split screen box size unfortunately. You can only select from the pre-defined available. You can look at something like "Aquasnap" or "Divvy" which is free and allows you to re-size the individual boxes.

Some application may be a bit flaky but personally I haven't experienced any issues. I would ensure that Windows 10, Adobe and On-Screen Control are all up to date.
