I'm on video #4 and, yes, I plan to watch all 52. It's like getting a Masters Degree for FREE! These videos on Logic Pro X are so clear, concise and well done it's just a joy to watch them. Thank you so much, MusicTechHelpGuy! Your karmic brownie points are just stacking up right and left.

I know what you mean about the masters degree. I've had my youtube watching count go up to 10,000, set back to zero and up to 10,000 again. Sometimes it counts backwards. But the information I've got are the truth about history, society, real physics, and more subjects from every high level University around the world. I took a simple test for my needs in physically doing things like bathing, grocery shopping, etc. They told me, and I talked to the head guy at the agency, that I was the only person who has ever scored a 100% on these tests. And because I was “smart, real smart, too smart,” that I don't need their help.... What? Where does this fit in society? We're mirrored lives in many ways. Minus you not being twisted like a corkscrew....I hope to meet you. Peppi

At last something scientifical and professional, after having bought so many unscientifics courses from people playing around quickly with DAW features without any explanations, I, at last, find a course which fulfills my hope and needs for understanding... Bravo !!!

Was planning on spending this rainy day working on new music, but there are things about Logic's Auto-punch feature that have been driving me up the wall because it doesn't function the same way as Ableton's (which is more straightforward). So glad I watched this first!

I'm aware of the shortcuts. You can hold option and scroll zoom vertically. You can also hold Option+Command and scroll to zoom horizontally. I just choose not to use them in an introductory video like this.

one of the things that make these tutorials so concise is the spherical/circular zoom you use while explaining; is it possible you might be able to send some feedback as to where i might be able to utilize such a tool; sure would be a heck of a lot better for my work flow when i have logic open! Thanks man - good vids as usual

I am considering purchasing a mini mac and Logic Pro X in the next few months. This will be my first introduction to a DAW recording medium and my only previous experiences have been a tape based Tascam 424 30 years ago and about 7 years ago a Tascam DP-02 8 track digital machine. These tutorials are so very well done but I would like to know if they are relatively near similar to the current version of Logic that is being offered this year. My guess is that there have been plenty of changes but the content is still very educational and I just want to know if I should proceed further with all of these lessons or look elsewhere for a more current teaching guide? Outstanding content by the way. Thank you for offering all of this to aspiring home recordists.

Check out my Logic Pro 101 course, it's a bit more current than these videos. But I will be doing a full reboot of this series next March 2022. I know it's a wait, but it will use the most current version at that time. Or if you can also check out my Logic courses at MacProVideo.com which are all current. Best, Josh. macprovideo.com/about/trainer/joshuacarney

Thanks for such a wonderful guide on Logic. So far reached Tutorial 4 and watching this I just want to know, often there is a situation when you Auto punch the signal you record can be louder(depends on if we were playing harder on the strings of the guitars the next time round), So in that case Pro tools and Reaper have this option adjust the volume by separating the region and lowering the volume to match the other original recording take. Does Logic has this option too??
@MusicTechHelpGuy9 жыл бұрын
khushal bhadra You can adjust each region's gain on the left side of the screen in the inspector.

Thanks a lot for the video, its straight forward and perfect for new users like me. I got a question though, in the comping process, is it possible to let takes overlap? Coz for example, in take 1 I got a long note which I want it to overlap at the same point of take 2, if I use the quick swipe it will eliminate one take and replaced by another. Can anyone let me know how should I do? Thanks!

If someone gets new tracks instead of takes during Autopunch, right click on the Record button / Recording Preferences and make sure the cycle on off are set to Take new Folder.
