Her ENTIRE speech of fiction was infuriating to listen to. However, I felt that the most disturbing part was when she said that Tammy was her friend and that they visited with each other regularly. Tammy had never even met Lori. Lori committed adultery with Tammy’s husband, conspired to kill Tammy while she was still married to Chad, and married Chad just two weeks after Tammy was killed. Tammy was everything that Lori was not; a great wife, mother, friend, daughter, sister, etc. etc. etc. Lori could NEVER be what Tammy was in eternal lives!!! I felt for Tammy’s family when Lori was talking about her! I hope that Lori has a miserable existence for the rest of her life!!!

@@sarahelizabeth299my thoughts exactly. Why is she without consent sending other people to “heaven” when she is so sure of how beautiful it is Lori and chad should have gone first. But instead they wanted to stay on the earth wallowing in its earthly pleasures and tell everyone that the others were euthanized for their own good.

Glad you've covered this. Hyperreligiosity with Narcissistic features is a form of personality disorder and not delusional Schizophrenia. Lori committed these killings not because she was having fits of active hallucinatory delusion but to get what she wanted in her life. She knew what she did were morally and legally wrong - the great length she went to and the manipulations she took up just shows the knowledge of her guilt, the guilt that's pushed aside none the less. So many KZbinrs have no clue about the difference between Schizophrenic delusions and self-justifications and lie that a grandiose Narcissist weaves to delude herself. Lori is just in denial of her feelings of entitlement that compelled her to eliminate obstacles in order to achieve the lifestyle she wanted, because she knows deep inside that her true motivations are less than wholesome, let alone spiritual. BTW now that her sister Summer seems to have fallen back to the default state that this family( Summer and Lori's mum) loves to be in, blaming what Lori has been found guilty of, to the 'illness', now that it is named by the judge. I reckon the mum's absence throughout this court case was a result of her embarrassment, rather than her feeling of crushing guilt. Typical of this Narcissistic family.

Schizophrenia with active psychosis doesn't have control buttons to be elaborate, lucid, deliberate, and manipulative on demand, then psychotic when it benefits. THAT'S Vallow. I saw a video that shared that her family never heard this new stuff before, no dying giving childbirth. She scripted a little show for her statement. It might have been to torture the families, try to get the judge to commit her, or just to get attention, She did get attention, all negative. I heard what the state prison is like that she was sent to. ITS really bad, very bad. Many women go crazy there for real. And being a child killer, she's going to have a very rough time.

Lori took being a narcissist to a whole new level bu claiming to be a 'chosen one'. She made excuses for all those murders that were actually done to benefit her and Chad financially. Killing their spouses was bad enough but killing those two children is horrific on a whole other level. It is our base instinct to protect children, especially our own. @@Herewearenowentertainus She's a highly delusional narcissist. It's not surprising that she thinks the way she does. She was like this entire life even outside religion. Lori never got checked and just kept getting worse and worse with every passing day.

Narcissism to a "whole new level," as you wrote...unfortunately, you are so very right about that! It is truly surreal what that thing believes, about herself more than anything else. Someone else here in the comments described her speech as "infuriating" and I absolutely agree. However, as you were mentioning, her narcissism came through during her speech in a way that was a most vomitus-inducing experience for the listeners! The Mormon church’s teachings from the beginning which the leaders have been trying to back away from are that those in the religion who live all the principles of the gospel to the fullest do become gods and have their own planets in the afterlife. Lori’s issue is that she and Chad couldn’t/wouldn’t wait for death to have that happen. They needed to be a god and goddess in the here and now.

Lori was allowed to spout this self-serving nonsense but no way was anyone supposed to call her out for her smirking and laughing and smiling and joking, sitting with her nose in the air, during the trial. Were her feelings going to be hurt by hearing the truth?!?!? She actually wanted to leave the courtroom while the grisly details about her children's remains were given in evidence. She knew what she did and she did it because she wanted the money and not have to take care of her children anymore. Her behavior in court alone shows her true colors and that she doesn't believe the BS she declared. She's a common murderer, no supernatural elements need apply.

If Lori's NDE was true (and I don't believe her for a second) then she is in trouble if she felt her soul sink to the floor. Common consensus amongst NDE people, who have medical evidence that they had to be brought back by doctors, is that the soul rises up and views the body from above. When she said that when vacationing in heaven at Tylee's birth "I thought my children would be fine w/o me" boy was she right. I doubt she was smart enough to even see the irony of that statement. At what point does a delusion break down? And is it really a delusion if the person can simultaneously use it to further their selfish plans? I'm not sure this sociopath is really that delusional. I feel bad for Tammy's family too...I cannot imagine how DEVASTATING it must've been to hear the woman who took part in these premature, sensless deaths absolve herself of all wrongdoing and even say that her victims are all happy and busy and visited HER to give HER comfort and to tell her how happy they are and how amazing she is. She literally rubbed salt into these people's wounds, publically and on stand. I don't condone vigilanteism...usually but honestly, if any of these people just ran up to her and beat her to death or stabbed her and killed her I wouldn't fault them.

I’d buy the theory that she was delusional (in a psychological sense) if all of her crimes didn't also secretly substantially benefit her leisure time and bank account (or so she thought). It just so happened that the million dollar life insurance beneficiary was changed and she got caught for her crimes, but she did all the best she could to get away with it and live her very best life. That, to me, is narcissism and greed many measures beyond the possible existence of any mental health delusions she may hold. As a side note, it’s comical in a dark way how criminals like Lori profess that their victims are in a better place. If death and heaven are so great why didnt/doesn’t she send herself up to the pearly gates.

The NDE story, which has never been heard by her close friends and family before, was a message to Chad. Also, I thought her statement that she misses heaven and wants to go back indicated that she's suicidal. This goes along with Dr. Grande's assessment that she freed her children from pain: Lori sees death as freedom from pain, ergo the pain she experiences with 3 life sentences could be relieved by taking her own life. These are just my thoughts/points of view on her bizarre statement.

I didn't follow this case but know the basics. This is an interesting analysis but I would have liked to have known the real underlying reasons for her actions. Her so called beliefs are BS and I am sure she knows they are deep down. Her real motivations were likely a desire to free herself from being tied to kids. This woman was married multiple times which tells me she is not capable of being in a relationship which requires you to surrender some of the freedoms of a single life. She is obviously self centered and a narcissist. This Daybell character with his kooky religious stuff was just her next new identity phase.
