3 years after discovering your channel and I'm still amazed at your skill! I just got a beefy computer and discovered world painter which is perfect because I want to create natural looking mountain ranges that give my world a more mystical feeling. It's going to be a pretty big project and I have to admit, a lot of my building inspiration comes from your designs. I still need to work on building into terrain but this video has given me some good things to think about.

Nice video, but I think you could've made it better by showing some frames for good examples. Like finding a natural unbuilt area and showing how you could incorporate a building there. Just my opinion.

Madnes64, I have to say, every video you make amazes me. I play on the Xbox Version of Minecraft, and before we got access to upside-down stairs, building in your style became quite difficult. now all we are really waiting for is to have sideways logs and cobblestone walls. One thing that I have been trying to figure out how to build is a Medieval Factory. Now I know those two words really don't make sense together, but it is a build I would definitely like to see.

One thing I would like to see is a before/after image of some of these, because I have no idea how much of the original terrain you changed. But, I assume you probably changed the terrain as little as possible, except you must have dug out the flooring for the houses.
@EBProductions
@EBProductions 10 жыл бұрын
i think its better to build the houses first but when you're doing that keep in mind where you want your roads to be. what you do not want to do is build a house and then build a house 5 or more block away from it. try to keep your builds close to eachother so you have a great city feeling!

It makes me happy whenever you describe things as "cute" and "pretty." So many men shy away from those words in the name of machismo. Lots of your houses are cute, much of your landscaping is pretty, but that doesn't mea you can't also build something frikkin epic (Kargeth and it's surrounding cities being a prime example ♥).

Building them after kid of works better. I'm just replieng because I see Madnes64 didn't. I use a simulair style so I have many experience. Its not hard and you don't allways have to make the houses smaller because they stick out one block, you can just have it stick out onto the road, in medieval times they were kind of messy in large cities. What's nice to do as well is to add streetlanterns and flower(pot)s.

If i had a suggestion for you... please, please put up a resource pack as the vanilla one really burns eyes out! :'( The faithful is much smoother and keeps the vanilla look to the buildings, so i guess it's the best one for you ;)

I would do one big road and build houses on the left and right of the road but make the houses closer together so you get the feel of a medieval city hope this helps then make roads curve around the houses and keep building out
@fdbuilds1891
@fdbuilds1891 9 жыл бұрын
Please don't listen to koggz ;) not that his advice is bad just that it's harder to continue a city like that. First, find a nice area. Then map out where you want your central building. Thus could be a castle, cathedral, or even fort for a smaller city. Then, think about where you want the wall to wrap around. When you have figured that, then go with kaggy advice (sort of?) and make a road long enough to fit 4 - 5 houses on. Then continue the road branching it out in random directions. Make sure when you need to turn you curve the road instead of making 90 degree angle turns. Over at least 30 percent of these branches, connect those houses together via a bridge. Actually now that I'm thinking of it 10 to 20 percent is better. Once you have at least a few blocks done of these town folk houses, convert at least one house on every block to a specialty house. Continue this while building towers, smaller churches, town squares, castles, and other assorted buildings. Make sure to incorporate the methods madnes64 spoke about in this video, seeing as building across levels makes things larger and are essential to any city, town, or village even.

If you would like to know we have created a detailed video where we discuss this topic as much as possible, unfortunately our videos don't get that many views and these comments proof that we (that video, in this case) are pretty hard to find. We don't like this either though but, yeah, cannot control people's mind. Anyways we think this video will be really helpful for you guys.
