7:53 You know, you could have just asked. All these questions you couldn't find answers to about me aren't anything secretive or taboo. 😆 I used a voice modulator because I was afraid of getting hate from people because I said nice things about cultures *cough Middle East cough* that a lot of people didn't like. I wanted to work in a character rather than myself but I didn't have a great understanding of sound design at the time. Thus the cringe. Also, working in character allows me to have some CRAZY fun with editing. Something I'm considering going back to now that I DO have an idea of how sound design works. I split with the Game Theorists because the difference in viewership you mentioned was goofing the algorithm and hurting myself and Mat. When the system didn't punish subsequent videos for performance, it worked. When that changed, we had to change. It wasn't anything personal, it really was just due to changes in the system. It's just the ever-evolving landscape of KZbin. Nothing more really. I still do what I love with enough people who like it I can still make a living. So, no worries!

Hey there, I'm a current Game Theory editor! I don't have a lot of behind-the-scenes knowledge, but I can confirm that the lack of gaming shows that deviate from the "Game Theory" concept is due to the algorithm not favoring channels without a clear focus. It's a shame some of these series are privated though. I remember really enjoying Smash History. As for Frame-by-Frame on Film Theory, the creator's name was Kyle Adams (AKA twelthofadime). Not only did his FT series disappear, but almost all of his online content has been scrubbed. Including an entire gaming channel he did alongside Makemebad35 called "Pwnage". The theory is that he has moved on from KZbin as a career and dissociated himself with that content in order to help his chances with future employment.
@bastois3 жыл бұрын
When I was younger I paid for the KZbin red game lab series, it gets better past the mirror's edge video but not by much. I recommend you check it out if you have even a slight interest in cyber security because honestly as a young teenager, that video along with a few other things led to me pursuing a career in cyber security.

TOME! Oh my god! It’s on Chris Niosi’s own channel and fully completed! I loved its concept and a lot of the designs. The voice over is pretty good too. I think he’s also working on making a game based on TOME as well, I remember him streaming sprite animation. Hell, littleKuriboh voices in it too! I had no clue it was associated with GT at all! Definitely recommend checking it out.

@@themanwiththegoldengooch9811 generally, the Deadlock episodes represented both sides poorly. The Dark Souls Episode said you needed the very obscure rusted iron ring to beat the game, and that made it bad. You don’t need that item, at all. They also didn’t realized that the NPC’s are supposed to be unreliable to some extent.

It really makes you think what would happen if all the side shows on Game Theory got popular?
@Kahadi3 жыл бұрын
Well, for an easy idea of it, just look up Gaijin Goombah. He did Game Exchange and Culture Shock on The Game Theorists, but separated to his own channel so they could keep their focus more narrow for algorithm purposes (the algorithm would see that people would skip over videos and take it as fluctuating popularity when it was simply that some people would only come for one series. Separating the channels meant that the algorithm would play nice. A lot of channels did similar around then, ending series or separating them between channels like a music channel and a gaming channel sort of thing). Gaijin continued on his own channel with Culture Shock and Game Exchange and has since expanded to other series with the same themes (Which Ninja, looking at popular ninjas in media and rating them on historical accuracy, and now one about yokai in media and telling their mythological origins). So while some may have stayed on the main channel (I'm sure D&SQ would have stayed if Ronnie was still alive), most would likely have either remained until their popularity died or would have separated to their own channels to aid the algorithm like Gaijin did (and I believe Footofaferret continued A Brief History on his own channel for a bit as well)

For the record, on deadlock, I forget when, but I think Matpat mentioned in another video when talking about fan arguments that deadlock basically was getting people up in arms having fights about the topics involved instead of the more calm rational debates he was hoping for? My phrasing may be off, but it was something about basically getting people too worked up rather than talking stuff out. (Might have been in his video post giving undertale to the pope, but I could be wrong)

It also took a lot of time with editing, so they decided to let go of the show. He did hope that maybe in the future in some other format it would come back.

Big Tome fan here. Tome was an animation passion project by Chris "kirbopher" niosi and is a rebbot of his newgrounds sprite animation series "TVtome adventures". The entire series can be sren in his kirbopher and on newgrounds channel and was most likely removed from game tgeory as the situation was most likely just a friendly promotion. Kirbopher is currently hard at work developing a mario rpg inspired adaptation of his TOME series taking place in a new continuity Seriously Mars, what was up with this half assed research

I remember Frame by Frame on The Film Theories channel. The host was a guy named Kyle Adams. If you watched makemebad35 back in the day, or watched the pwnageshow channel between 2012 and 2016 (before he and Damian left the channel and all the videos on pwnage got either privated or deleted), and also had his own personal channel called “twelthofadime” (which just like with pwnageshow, was ultimately abandoned), then you might know who I’m talking about. From what I’ve been able to gather since then, I’ve found that, apparently, the reason pwnageshow’s videos are gone from the channel is because he found a job and didn’t want his boss to know about it. I remember seeing an Instagram post on makemebad35’s account there, and someone commented on it asking what happened to the videos and Kyle was the one who replied with that explanation. I hope that clears up things in regards to Frame by Frame.
