Thank you for this video. I'm going to swap a v8 into my clk320 soon and I wanted to see how to remove the engine. Seems very easy. I wish I had a lift like you, but I think I can make it work on jackstands. I'm debating whether or not to remove the front bumper supports of the car or not to just slide the engine out like you did on the first car. I think it might be easier to mate the engine and transmission outside of the car. This is my first time removing an engine so hopefully everything goes smoothly.

It’s fairly easy here in NC. Safety inspection and emissions. For the newer cars 6 years old and younger- VIN verification to make sure no stolen parts were used in repair.

I have a clk 350 my timing went off soo it don't turn on any more I have a 2010 glk 350 engine I would need to swap out my old oil pan to my other engine since it's a different oil pan but same engine kinda cool to see you work on this w209 since no one does 🤙👍

Brave man! Strange damage, and unfortunate that the alu part of the pumphousing is broken. Flimsy and fairly light constructed. But so much extra damage in the downfall of the conrods? Al long as the crackshaft is not worn? Repairable? Thums up!

Not worth to repair. Those engines are not expensive to replace and it saves a tons of time.

I think it’s not as straightforward as just to slap it in. Probably wiring and programming will be the hardest parts.

Hi Man, nice video. I really hope that I can have you take a look at my E550 coupe. It got water in the car after I mistakenly open the door when surrounding is flooded. Local technicians said engine can still be turned, but electronics are bad. I don’t know if you take repair jobs, but if you do, please let me know the best way to contact.

IME, engines, even without the transmissions attached need to be tilted at multiple angles throughout the process to get them out. looks like this one came straight up and out! not that it think it was easy. none are... :)

I really don’t have any experience with any other engines/cars, so can’t compare, but this one was really not that hard. Also not so much to disconnect to free it up.
