Wow, I bought The Primal Blueprint maybe 10 years ago and ate up every word. Haven't been as health focused for a while since then, but I've been digging back in the last few weeks, and finding this was THE best refresher of why I love Mark Sisson in the first place!! So down to earth, realistic, and not dogmatic about the how or WHY we pursue 'diets' etc. He zooms out to see the forest for the trees just often enough to keep me interested enough to dig back into the science. Excellent style, excellent interview!! THANK YOU! (Sent this link to several people I love immediately to maybe inspire them to get on a realistic, very coherent path to holistic health. :)

I was listening to someone somewhere and they put it simply...we have forgotten how to DINE. Take time to eat, savor and enjoy. Two movie visuals come to mind: in Eat, Pray, Love- the scene where Liz is in her apartment in Italy and she eating her brunch. Another scene: in Chocolat- the birthday party scene near the end where the group is eating the chocolate filled dinner.

Great content and a really reasonable approach. Very helpful to understand how keto and IF can be beneficial on a metabolic level vs just as a strategy to lose weight. However, I don't agree with the argument about prolonged fasting. I did a 21 day fast and what happens after day 5 is amazing. I had my scars become smaller and extracted unspeakable substances from my body. There is a reason why almost every religion has a form of prolonged fast once per year. It really regenerates your whole body.

I’ve followed Mark since the “Primal Blueprint “. It’s interesting to see how much he’s evolved regarding his thoughts and practices. Case in point was his eating habits. He shunned legumes but now allows for some consumption. His so called “Big Ass” salad was a go to after fasting which he no longer eats or advocates if your body has a specific response to it. His recommendation is now to “experiment “ to see what works for you.

@@user-nj1zu2nf1x It's not about being wrong. It's about finding your particular tolerance level for different foods. And keto, as a tool, used intermittently, is not a fad. It's a useful metabolic state. The problem is when people use it as the be all end all way of eating all the time.

Thank you for a reasonable approach! Processed Corn is so different than fresh corn, sweet corn has been bred for so many years that many of its grain like qualities have been bred out of it. Earing three or four corn tortillas or a corn on the cob barely moves my blood sugar. Don't eat corn three meals a day, but part of a primal type diet it's totally fine.

Great podcast gentlemen, and I have to say that one of the food adaptive benefits I’ve discovered about myself is that I can fast for 36 to 48 hours without being hungry. I don’t do this regularly, but looking back on growing up in the Midwest I thought I had to eat three square meals a day or I’d die. I e discovered a wonderful freedom in not being totally driven by the need to be absolutely food controlled, and when I express this freedom to many who aren’t aware of this, they think I’m nuts!😂

Very good video .. I'm certainly glad food is not boring to me. Avocados are good to me with out salt. :) .. If it is ripe enough, I eat the skin also. I payed $ for it, why toss it out? -- Gotta add, you are really just applying common sense to your ideas of your daily eating habits AFTER you have totally comprehended the way the body needs fuel.. The body is a miracle and knows what it wants, when it wants it and how much it wants. This man-made garbage we eat is enemy No. 1 today. *My father told me decades ago, eat when you are hungry.*
