At least they showed him trying to give himself as much advantage as possible in the situation he's in, takes his shirt off so they can't grab him by it, uses it to clog the sink to flood the space as well as splashed water on himself to make it slippery for his attackers to move around and grab/hold him, hitting himself in the head to induce adrenaline, used his elbow for more striking power and force since his opponents/attackers are wearing protection/body armor

as someone who has done plenty of cell extractions i can tell you most inmates think they will be this guy - but the kick doesnt do shit because you aren't kicking just one guy with a shield. You have the momentum of the other 5 men behind the guy with the shield smashing you into a wall and then you get turned into a pretzel.

@@Johno1992 because they have a job to do and the more people you have (and people that KNOW what they're doing working as a team not dogpiling) the less chance of injury for both the officer and the inmate. The goal is not to beat them up because if that was the goal it would just take two officers, the goal is to restrain the safely. I am decently sized have a kickboxing and BJJ background and although i can handle myself and have, I have ended up either being injured (scrapes bumps, spit, bites), or injuring the person being arrested, (broken arms, bleeding head etc). What I don't understand why people get egotistical about an inmate, arrested person scenario vs cops or prison guards. We have a job to do and we do it well. If you think you can do it better then sign up and show us how it should be done. I bet after the first time you get bitten by some guy with aids, knocked out by some big dude on meth, someone reaching for your gun, or end up with a dirty knife in your arm you will change your tune quick.
