He nearly single-handedly generated a whole generation of NASCAR fans. Just like his dad did.
@alwaysopen79703 жыл бұрын
You can drop "nearly". Most of the fans in the stands wore red and drank Bud. None of the other young drivers at that time or at present had the ties with fans he does to this day. Do any other HMS drivers have popular podcasts? Any other drivers in general? No and no. People like Dale and want to meet/know him.

My old man has always been a dale and a dale jr. fan. My favorite growing up was Harvick but I got a little bit older and started liking Dale jr. too. I never disliked him by any means. Its just the time I grew up your options were basically Jeff Gordan or Dale Jr. so I ended up getting interested at a time when Harvick had the goodwrench car with the number 29. Which happened to be my sports number in school. Anyway long story short after Dale retired I started watching his show on here and started liking him as a person a lot more.

Those 8 bud days were so fun to watch. DEI was great the first few years. Made Talladega my favorite race. Obviously when dale sr nascar wasn’t the same. I feel like jr carried the sport until he retired. The ratings, sponsors and attendance went so far downhill ever since. Such an amazing impact on the sport. The iverson of nascar. Well deserved!

I didn't like Jr for a long time. Then he went through his dry spell for wins and I saw how much he grew up during it and I became a big fan of him as a person when he was winning the least he ever had. I was even happier when he moved to the booth, because now I would get ţo hear the person all race long instead of short in race radio clips that were always entertaining. I appreciate him more now than ever knowing the pressure he must have constantly lived under being Dale's son. Most people would crumble under that kind of pressure. The fact he carried that torch the way he did is reason enough for him to be in the hall of fame. The fact he found success, was nicknamed the pied piper on plate tracks, and had the courage to leave the team his father started (with some funny tattoo referencing commercials to boot) are just bonus reasons for why he deserved this. I've only been to a few Nascar races, all in Phoenix. One of those races was a dominating win by Dale Jr. His car was on rails that evening.
