I mentioned it elsewhere, but the DW-8000 was the one of the least "noisey" synths I ever experienced. I was used to getting at least a little background noise on most synths beforehand, but this was the first time I experienced dead silence on headphone outputs when nothing was playing.

See this is what I want out of digital synth demos, sounds that can be used in a variety of different ways. Seems like a lot of demos for the past decade of so just like... Only focus on long pads and not much else. I've been looking into an SY99 as of late and all the demos on KZbin barring like one or two don't really show off much other than the same sounds that everyone makes on just about every synth

Hey, I hear a sample and hold in there for the LFO.. and it's clocked to the midi clock. I own a DW8000 and never saw a sample and hold option there and the LFO doesn't sync to MIDI, only the arpeggiator. Is this something unique to EX? or is this EX a Modded machine?

Caleb Garner Ha! No, not a modded machine! That sample and hold and MIDI square LFOs are external software modulations. A MIDI VST LFO plugin in Cubase that modulates the EX in sync. :)

I've not checked with my DW, but a lot of times LFO's "reset" with each new incoming key press so perhaps that combined with setting filter levels creates the effect. I would seriously doubt the plugin could make the LFO sync to midi since that's more of a hardware / midi thing, not some a CC command could dictate.. however I'll have to try that plugin out sometime on my DW to see how it responds. a very nice effect. I love Sample and Hold and unfortunately not enough synths / samplers have it.

What I meant is that the plugin is the actual LFO that modulates the filter of the Korg. Since it’s a plugin it’s always in sync. The LFO signal from the plugin goes to a MIDI transformer plugin which transforms CC to aftertouch and then to the MIDI In of the Korg. Filter on the Korg is set to receive aftertouch signals. I hope it helped...

yea that's cool, very interesting. i'll have to try that out. i've used CTRLR as a standalone library editor, but I haven't used the VST Plugin. I think I see how it's doing what it's doing which makes sense. using CC to control the filter "on note on" is great. the fact that it can randomly generate a value within the plugin managing that is very cool.

Great demo ! I make awesome pads with DW8000 but I am struggling to make good bass sounds , how did you made this bass patch, it sounds like PWM which makes me curious because DW doesn't have PWM and pulse waveform at all. I am guessing you used 1 waveform on both OSC's

Gazdatronik Hello Mr Gazdatronic. Haha, cheating? It's only an external modulation source, I was really proud for my trick at the time! :) Also, those pieces are primarily my compositions that happen to draw inspiration each from a specific instrument, that's why there are external effects and sometimes drums from other sources too. It is a kind of exercise for me. By the way, a selection of those pieces has now a much better arrangement and mixing/mastering and they are going to be released as an official Mr Woofer album. I am a big fan of your work, I was wondering if one can find some of your older music with better quality somewhere?

I don't have any music out except for on the youtubes these days. Web hosting for high quality audio is very hard to find. I should make a torrent and just direct people to that when they want content. I really appreciate your work with the DW. Nothing else sounds like a DW, but its not exactly a modulation powerhouse. But if you want beauty, its got lots of that. I'm sure somebody will make a successful audio-only site like KZbin. Maybe KZbin will, but not with KZbin music, maybe it can be called KZbin Audio. Looks the same, except you upload a picture and audio instead of a video.
