Hey nieces and nephews! Nigel Ng (creator of Uncle Roger) here. If you follow my insta, you would've seen stories about how this past Friday, Oct 30, I was punched in the face by some random stranger while walking home in London. Signs point toward this being a hate crime. Don't worry, I'm ok! Just a bit of bleeding and bruising on my chin and lip. Have filed a police report as well. “The messier your kitchen is the better the food” My ex-landlady (originally from Hong Kong has been living in Australia for ~10 years) told me “you keep trying to make kitchen empty. Clean kitchen is not empty kitchen. You keep putting away rice cooker and wok into cupboard. I take take wok out because I’m going to use it soon, and I keep rice cooker out because it lives on kitchen bench. Empty kitchen is everything disappeared and not easily found. I don’t want to spend 20mins trying to find where you hid my wok. Clean kitchen is wok ready, rice cooker on bench, and dishes on sink drying (she only used the washing machine when it was 100% full, and only for plates and cutlery. Everything else was hand washed). This is the same lady who whacked me on the shoulder and said “I not buying nice pan if you keep doing this” because I used a metal spoon on a non stick pan. Tbh though, I’ve never made that mistake again

When I was in the US I had Thai friends who were so shocked I could make stir fry (though my American husband just stared at me when we went to Meijer and I asked where the non-existent Asian section was - had to drive hours to Chinatown), and don’t get me started on their ‘Italian’ food 🤮. So for Sahur we make rice at night before we sleep... At 4.00 AM we gonna eat sahur but rice is uncooked because someone who cook that rice forget to press cook button... Regarding the chilling rice part, he did do that. Uncle Roger cut out certain parts of the video, if you see the original video he did say cool the rice down and then keep the rice in the fridge for several hours. You should check the original video a few things that were present there were cut out in Uncle Roger's reaction video to Australia egg fried rice.
