I know The podcast is super old, but what Matt said about atoms and protons was wildy wrong. A proton, but then this one's just is inside Ava. Atom, the nucleus of an atom is made up of protons and neutrons, , So it makes no sense to say the spacing between the protons and the atoms. Because outside the new list will just be the electrons. There are Particles even smaller than protons though and combined they form a proton, their called Quarks.
@buttersstotch49569 ай бұрын
He saying atoms are hollow which is true.
@buttersstotch49569 ай бұрын
Yeah you mentioned that😂. Literally just google it bro. They do have particles in them but every thing you read will say the atom is mostly empty space and hollow. It has almost no density outside of the subatomic particles that are their own seperate thing and can move freely in and out of the atom. So it doesn’t add to its mass. You are thinking of it as a sphere. Look up pictures of atoms they aren’t even closed off it’s literally on the subatomic level it’s more of a net in a sphere shape that’s open to the outside world. Other particles pass through easily and float around and orbit the atom because of their natural attraction like magnets having force that cause them to connect. It’s not a tightly packed little ball it’s a loose constantly moving particle that can latch to other atoms. The protons and neutrons form the atom by orbiting eachother and they can then attach. Your whole channel is fucking cod videos I can’t believe I’m even wasting my time discussing this with you😂. I’ve spent hours and hours and thousands to sit around and listen to an old fuck teach this shit bro. You aren’t wrong about what forms an atom you just don’t get the structure it’s like inside out. So it has no mass it’s confusing
@WavyPhoton9 ай бұрын
@@buttersstotch4956 dude, every single thing you said, I typed it into chatgbt or google, and you were wrong. Where did you get your education? You think people who play video games are stupid, but it seems I have a way higher education than you (in physics, btw lol). Type into chatgbt right now and ask if atoms are hollow. See what it says, LMAO 🤣. Type in Google and ask if atoms are a sphere or not and see what you get. Type in chatgbt if protons and nutrons can freely move in and out of atoms and see what you get. Here, I'll even cite some sources for you. Next time, hush up if you only KZbin educated, you never know when you actually speak to a legit person. Protons and neutrons do not typically move freely in and out of an atom under normal conditions. These particles are tightly bound within the nucleus of an atom by the strong nuclear force. This force is much stronger than the electromagnetic force, which would otherwise cause positively charged protons to repel each other. As a result, protons and neutrons are relatively stable within the nucleus and do not move in and out freely. nuclear force is responsible for holding the nucleus together despite the repulsive electromagnetic forces between protons. It is an extremely powerful force, but it operates only over very short distances, typically less than the diameter of a nucleus. The nuclear force is mediated by particles called gluons, which are exchanged between quarks within nucleons. SOURCE - Introduction to Elementary Particles" by David Griffiths, "Modern Physics for Scientists and Engineers" by John Morrison. Additionally, websites like those of CERN and the American Physical Society.

@@Fish-fz8bt the subatomic particles that the atom contains like protons etc.. are what makes up its outer shell by spiraling around in a circular formulation.
