Me too. As painfully unwatchable, god-awful, and tortuous that batwoman movie is, the host segments make up for it, Servo being arrogant and nerdy about the short, Crow showing his mischievous side by plagiarizing Gypsy's essay and Servo wanting to EXECUTE him for it. Even Gypsy has a huge role in all of this episode's host segments, even with having more lines in them, so it's a go for me!

The same thing happened to me in 7th grade. I was the "Mary" and the hot girl behind me was the "John." We got caught after a few successful cheat exchanges where I helped her out and we both got a zero on the assignment. I wasn't some student council nerd so there they were minimal consequences. She apologized repeatedly and also wrote that she "loved" me in the yearbook that year, so I'm gonna go with net positive.

I had an incident in 7th grade where a fellow student and I had the exact same answers to a geography test. Thing was, we sat next to each other. The teacher wanted to rule out we cheated, which we didn't, so she had us retake the test. We passed and got the grade from the original exam. Even though no cheating was involved, just having it hang there made me feel bad.

Doesn't John get a chance to speak for himself with the student council? Being tried, convicted, and punished in absentia doesn't seem like due process. While I don't know what kind of defense he could mount ("Yeah, I cheated plenty of times. Sue me."), maybe explaining the pressure he was under and throwing himself on their mercy would work. Calling a few of the council members out "Harper Valley PTA"-style might also work.

No, He'd moved on to Shop Class and was building Stuff that teetered and tottered but in some weird way, Held together long enuf' to get the attention of the Art Class and from there...?
