I noticed the separated lines between the swappable face plates have not been removed. If it is a a stylistic choice I really like that! I love seeing the signs of the actual craft in stop-motion. It is what makes it special.

So a lady at his publishing house took the book home and read it to her kids. They loved it. So the publishing house went ahead and marketed the book to kids. But her kids later admitted they were terrified by the book and just holding it in because they wanted to find out what happens next.

This movie was amazing. There are so many details that were tended to and the artistry are pure eye candy. The main character is sooo cool. Love Key and Peele, as they have such fluidity when they’re together so you know you’re gonna laugh. The ending was sweet yet hard to swallow. You might cry. I loved it!

If the characters skin color is tied to their culture like black panther and wakanda then it cannot be changed. Because wakanda was never being colonized by whites. So it’s impossible for there to be a white black panther. You’re just hating skin color because it doesn’t look right to you. When it simply doesn’t matter. Who are you to decide that everything should stay the same. Who are you to say that media should stay filled with 99% whites. The skin color only matters to angry whites.

Coraline, The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, Corpse Bride, The Pirates: Band of Mitfits, ParaNorman, Chicken Run, Frakenweenie (2012), Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit, The BoxTrolls, Shaun the Sheep, Kubo and The Two Strings, Early Man, Missing Link, Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, and now Wendell and Wild. It's so cool that there's finally a stop motion lead who's black, i think kubo and this girl are actually the only two poc leads i've seen in a stop motion movie. I suppose since stop motion movies are way more rare to come out since they take way longer they would be slower on the representation front. Plus one of the biggest names associated with stop motion is tim burton who literally said he wouldn't put poc in his movies cause they don't fit "his aesthetic" or the "stories he wants to tell". Edit: i forgot isle of the dogs! Oops!

I'm really enjoying Wendell and Wild as characters. They're similar enough to Key and Peele that it's taking full advantage of their talents (they're expressive humor animates BEAUTIFULLY) while still giving them enough of their own identities to not just be "animated demon Key and Peele". It's a really fine line to balance and so far they've done it very well.
