The Tigers are really capable bikes on & off the road from everything give seen. There are two reasons ai haven’t bought one, not enough dealer support in the States and having to stop the bike to enable/disable TC & ABS. Otherwise it’s be a total winner. Love the bike in that red! 😍

You only have to stop bike to disable T/C or ABS....if you have either one or both disabled you hold the mode button for 2 seconds on the fly and the bike automatically goes into Road mode with both nannies in place. Bottom line ...only need to stop when going into an off-Road Mode.: If your in an off-road mode no need to stop to go to an Road Mode
@pinkiewerewolf9 ай бұрын

Great bike , I had a 2013 800 Tiger one of the first gen and I've always said it probably the most capable all round bike I've owned ( probably said it here before as I'm starting to repeat myself as I get older 😁 ) Only difference is the cost ...mine was an x demo a few months old and was just shy of 6K !!
@barrydaly71749 ай бұрын
Hi WFB, Good to see you over here on TAYM. I was looking at the Tiger 800 for a daily all year round bike but was put off. I think I heard somewhere that the valve checks were every 12000 miles and rather expensive £800 I think I remember hearing. Is that the case? Thanks WFB.
@TAYM9 ай бұрын
Thanks DJ 😁 yes, they are certainly not cheap 😁
@WyreForestBiker9 ай бұрын
@barrydaly7174 Hi Barry, yes 12000 miles is correct and the main dealer price is around that figure. However there are good specialists around that will charge around £450. I have to admit it was one of the reasons I sold the bike as mine was due . I do hear that 9/10 they need no adjustment and many leave till 25k to get them done with no ill effects. ...BTW TAYM is my favorite Vlogger ... marvellous 😊

Well, I’m pretty much set on trading my 22 GT Pro for a new Rally. I’ve rationalized my decision in a number of ways, much to my wife’s dismay. First of all, here in Idaho there’s far more dirt than pavement so a Rally with a little more aggressive tires is simply a safety decision. Right? The performance improvement and dash improvement, along with the seat and dampened handlebars are another important factor. Then there’s the fact that I’m 70 at the end of April, and well, who knows how long I have to remain immature and self indulgent. My GT Pro is an absolutely lovely bike. So easy! Perhaps my only niggle is that it might lack a bit of character. After my early years on Nortons and Ducatis it’s like riding a Japanese bike. Silly complaint. Starts and runs flawlessly. But being a one bike man ( the Ducati is a museum piece) it’s perfect for where I live.

Hi there, me again. I forgot to ask about the linked braking. Sounds a bit scary, what did you think? Is it only when you apply the front brake? Hopefully one can apply the rear brake without the front coming on.
@TAYM9 ай бұрын
I thought the brakes worked well 😁 and I certainly didn’t feel any interference from the optimised cornering abs 😁
@charlesodonnell42149 ай бұрын
When I apply the rear brake only on my 24 900 Rally Pro in road or sport mode I do not believe the front brake is applied ...meven to the point where ABS is pulsing. If it (front brake) is, it is very subtle. When I apply the front brake to the point of ABS activation I have no idea of what the rear is doing since I'm almost stopping so quickly with a definite lightening of the rest suspension. My only complaint so far is I wish I could keep more information on the TFT screen...gotta go to "service" to see odometer. Trip meters seem ok; TPS if you leave it on the main screen when running lower pressures keeps the big red tire pressure symbol from popping up (be nice if this alarm point could be user adjusted)
