Nick, cool dog. I would suggest putting a bit of water in his dry kibble to soften it up and for better digestion. Also, if possible, make him home made food or buy pre made human grade food, it's a chore but worth it. You'd be surprised w/ the junk they put in kibble, even the high end brands.

@@353scooter I have a 19 year old dog, still healthy as a horse other than being blind, couldn't really prevent that. She was getting really sick early on with digestion issues so I've been making her home made food for the past 17 years and I attribute her longevity to that.

Great content Nick, a suggestion though, think about a dogs natural diet. Canines have not evolved much digestion wise, and therefore still have a similar stomach as their ancestors. They do not naturally harvest and and cook grains or carbohydrates and therefore do not process them well. Please do not give your dog rice or carbohydrate based dog foods, it could lead to chronic inflammation and a myriad of problems down the road. Your dog should be eating a dog food with no carbs (many cheap options these days) and if you want to give him treats give him protein (steak, chicken) or fats (raw or uncooked eggs ect). Really enjoying your diet content, thank you.

This is counter to what modern nutritional practices look like for domesticated animals. Please consult with your local veterinarian before giving blanket nutritional advice for animals on KZbin.
@Last_brain_cell5552 жыл бұрын
@@steeeve4607 luckily I got a friend studying veterinarian medicine, he said "modern domesticated dogs can digest carbohydrates as quick fuel source but it is generally accepted that modern dogs should consume a low carbohydrate diet especially refined carbohydrates and sugars". So maybe I was a bit too black and white, maybe low carb instead of no carb? Still that much rice for a puppy on top of the carbs likely in the dry food? What do you think? I would love to hear your opinion since you have as much validity as me on this platform ☺️
@davehoyt89652 жыл бұрын
@Angelo Milone pits, pit mixes, bulldogs, labs among others will end up with inflammation and guaranteed ear issues, yeast, ect from rice. People can spin it into whatever bullshit about "modern science says" they want. It's what happens. Your advice was correct. Flours and gains have no place in a k9 diet.

@arun nt You will learn that the world is not only how you see it friend. Be smart and look up the micro-nutrient breakdown for organ meat, lets say liver, and than bulk white rice. Compare the two and make your own decision, or write this off and continue to live in ignorance.
